they have actually skipped it the last few times. I think with the new system and so many more events in general they might just be passing on the old way of running the events. We used to only get a couple events a month and one was when the new pack dropped. That is just not the way they are doing things so maybe they decided to just change it up. /shrug

So far, I've found the Machine Gun event, Valentines event, Piranha event, and Black Lanner event have all been good for match performance in solo-QP. It cut back on the percentage of heavies and assaults, and improved team cohesion. Hell, teams have even been less prone to camp, more running battles and brawls.
If they can find a way to continue to incentivize that, I'd love it.
My thought is that in solo-QP award a bonus percentage of C-bills based upon queue population of your mech's weight class. E.g., if you drop into solo-QP in a light while lights are at 15% (10 under the ideal 25) you get a 10% bonus on c-bill earnings in the match. Hell, making it 1 for 1 has the advantage of it being impossible equal the earnings buff from a Hero. I mean, people in MWO love to game the system, and matches tend to be better with a good distribution of weight classes.
If they can find a way to continue to incentivize that, I'd love it.

The last event even though I wasn't playing the new Mech I still got an event bonus in C-Bills per game. I like when they have daily events running simultaneously with a Mech drop event. I am a happy man when I can pull in 1.4-2 million C-Bills for 3-8 games played.
