Ah I see. Thanks Fup!

That is pricey for regular mech. Are VTRs still AssMechs?

The 9A1 and 9S are decent. The 9A1 is more broadly useful and the 9S is brawl-dependent.

The Cataphract Iliya muromets is the best tripple lbx 10 carrier.

I downsize the engine and use 2 medium lasors. With full armor quirks, this thing is a massive threat on the battlefield. I run the same fit on my victor and its just not as good as the old Cataphract.

Yes its good but those low slung arms are a pain.

I missed quite a bit during a hiatus but you're telling me that they introduced a new variant for the Victor, a chassis that was starting to lag even when I took my hiatus way long ago, and then took it away?

The 9A1 was one of the 2017 'Loyalty Mechs.' Like Mech Packs, there's a process for them coming out - First loyalty, then gift store, than in game store. This month was supposed to be just the gift store release, but by accident, all the loyalty mechs were released on the ingame store.

They were removed shortly after, but anyone who managed to snag one for C-Bills gets to keep it. If you want one, you can either buy one on the gift store for cash (Don't) or just wait for it to be released in the ingame store again (Do, it's fun).

I managed to grab the 9A1 for C-Bills, run it with 3x LB10 + 3ML and an LFE300.

It's decent but not outstanding, but you're likely better off with it as an LB10 carrier than with the NSR. I'll just mine with 2HGR for Solaris, first and foremost.

I find the 3 AC10 build is better on the 9A1 than the 3 LBX10 one. Without the RT and LT quirks of the 9S it's a bit fragile, so keeping it back and just pumping rounds into things works better IMO.

For $18 of real money you can go to the store tab on the top of this web page, then gift store, then reinforcements. However, paying the price of a standard mech pack (3 variants + 3 mech bays + 30 days premium + other junk) for only a single variant would be a little silly.

They were available in the in-game store for C-Bills a short time but got removed because apparently the loyalty mechs were posted too early (even though the patch notes had an entire section dedicated to highlighting them).

I was wondering why they disappeared from the store. I got very lucky, because I bought mine like yesterday or the day before, right before they removed them. They're soooo good. Many of the older 'mechs from back in yonder day had ballistics in only one body location. These modern machines with ballistics in 3-4 locations outlcass them tremendously, and adding nipples to the vector has elevated the -9A1 to stardom. Which was great, because I really wanted to try the Vic and old school Highlander, but both (sans the -9A1) are complete trash by modern standards).

The exception is the VTR-9S, it's pretty good. AC20 + 3 SRM6 is a good brawler build. I use one like this : https://mwo.smurfy-n...87f8742d45d1009

Ilya works with a pair of LB10s, an LB5, 7 1/2 tons of ammo, 2 pts under max armor, Endo/DHS, and a 250 LFE if you're worried about a side torso death. Barring a hot map of close in flamers you're very rarely going to overheat the thing.
