I'm still really hoping to see more Battletech (tabletop) mech builds in this thread. Most posters are responding with theory on why MWO and Battletech aren't compatible, which I pretty much covered in the first post.

I have a couple MWO builds which are strictly TT legal and which I think would be nice and balanced 'mechs in tabletop.

First is my Wolfhound Grinner, which is basically a regular Wolfhound with 1xERLL + 4xML, but with Endo+Ferro+LFE245 upgraded to move at 7/11. Also has Guardian ECM.

My PXH-1 is basically a regular 6/9/6 Phoenix Hawk, but with XL Engine and Endosteel received upgraded weaponry. 2xLL for long-range punch, and 3xMG and 1xERSL for chewing up light targets, and an AMS. 12 DHS allows it to jump and alpha strike without building heat.

(The latter is a bit oversinked in tabletop and you might run ERLL's instead of LL's.)

Another one for the "TT correct but actually good in MWO" pile. The Archer 2R with 2 x MRM40, LFE-280 and 4xML for backup.

I find it to do really, really well in MWO pug queue. I think I've reduced leg armour for one more DHS, and did the MWO meta placement for ammo.

The Esprit de Corps' default loadout looks like it would be a badass mech-slayer and I confirmed through Solaris Skunk Works that it's tabletop legal.

EDIT: actually the medium pulse laser is not but it's the least important weapon in the build so it can just be done away with on the tabletop.

How is the MPL not TT legal?

The Banshee 3S is a monster, it dares you to close with it, and if you do, then you are playing right into it's game.... it wants you in CQB to beat your skull in with two fist attacks for 10 damage each....

I'd say it's not as cut and dry as "Dare you close so that I can whack you with my fists?", but more just... Screw over everything within the 1-10 hex range band.

Kind of like the CGR-1A1, yes it's packing 5 small lasers, yes they are ineffective past 3 hexes... the real danger is being with in 8 hexes of the thing.... a 56 damage charge is nothing to ignore....

The build is completely legal for an Ebon Jag:

Completely wrong, they share the same base system. Seriously, I just created the Esprit loadout in a TT mech generator, there are several builds that work in both, as I've posted upthread.

I ran out of weight trying to build it in SSW and had to leave off the MPL. Apparently I was doing something wrong because someone transferred it directly to BTech and posted the build specs.

It's a shame I have no one to play tabletop BattleTech with, I'd love to run the EBJ-EC on the tabletop in a 3052 campaign and duel Takashi Kurita on Luthien.
