In lore large loyalist units had home worlds. Units fight for their home. This gives some meaning and value to planets and being loyal.

To qualify for a home world:
  • Loyal to the faction for at least 30 days

  • Unit must have 12 or more pilots.
Choosing your home world:
  • Home worlds are chosen by unit leadership in FW
  • Home world has to be controlled by the faction the unit is loyal to at time of choosing
  • No rewards if faction loses planet.
Home World Rewards:

Bonuses for invasion and scouting matches are based on unit size and where the home world is in relationship to the front. Bonuses are percentage increased to cbill, loyalty, gxp and xp earned.

Faction controls home world <50 pilots
Home world 0%
Home world in the vote list 5%
Home world being attacked 10%

Faction controls home world 50 or more pilots in unit

Home world 5%

Home world in the vote list 10%

Home world being attacked 20%

Quality Reward:

At each ceasefire regardless of planet awards a unit with a home world gets 1 mc for each vote the unit earned between ceasefires. A unit player earns a vote for each invasion match victory they participate in.

Changing Home Worlds:

First would be a unit option. Probably costly, say 100 million Cbills to build a new base of operations paid for out the Unit coffer fund.

Second would be moving to a tagged planet. The taking of a planet required a good portion of the units pilots and mechs to achieve, the new management probably would give away a location for free just to keep the unit there to defend. The unit gets the choice for as long as they have a tag on the planet.
