What Do You Think Can Be Done To Solaris To Make It More Viewer/streamer/youtuber Friendly?

As soon as the vast majority realise they have about as much chance in it, the place will become a ghost town just like Faction Warfare.
The only real question is how much damage will it do to the regular product, and whether the bolt on's become part of Q.P, if they bring in more money, than the number of players, that either stop spending, or quit in disgust at their addition.

Way I see it, you'll likely sit in queue for 30 seconds, get a 30 second loading screen, spend 60 - 90 seconds on map voting, another 30 seconds loading screen, 2 minutes of play, 30 seconds in the score screen, 30 seconds loading screen and then you get to queue up again.
Make Solaris a best of X mode, e.g. best of five, either with the same single 'Mech or a drop deck, so you don't spend significantly more time being idle than actually playing. Idle time vs play time is an issue in QP and FP as is but it'll be worse for Solaris, even if queue times are low initially.

Personally though I can't see spectating being much of a thing, despite the desires of any e-sports enthusiasts. People generally enjoy spectating when it is in real time, and they have some personal investment/interest in the outcome.
Since betting on the outcome of matches is probably a 'bad thing', and real-time is probably a bad idea as well (since your buddies on TeamSpeak can tell you what the rest of the match is doing), I don't see a lot of interest in watching what is in effect a 'replay' of a battle that has already happened.
Maybe if they make it so the sponsors are teams and you get some benefit from people on your sponsor team winning, you would have a stake in the outcome of the match.

Those players won't stick with Solaris; being 1v1(or 2v2, it's about individual skill only (or mostly, at least) and the ones that go out with 150 damage are usually players who lack that. With nobody to blame and no meatshields to use, they'll go back to QP in a jiffy.
My prediction is that above average players are more likely to stick with Solaris (if the mode stays somewhat healthy) as they're far more likely to retain winning records. As such, it's probably the players that leave most matches with a positive KDR and somewhere in the 500 - 1000 damage bracket somewhat consistently, read: The players that typically carry their PUGs.

MWO is such a very small niche that only people who have previous exposure or want a limited scope of play game come here...
So, Solaris refines the limited niche even more and takes the worst possible game play practice, that has driven off so many, farming/seal clubbing; and, makes an entire mode all about what many hate the most !!! Just brilliant. Wow I just want to be farmed for a couple of hundred times.........for what reason? To what end? To accomplish what?
To answer the thread: Grand Melee or Team Melee.... Use 8x8 teams and throw 4 teams in at a time.... Now that, would be fun to watch if each teams mechs were a different color and the mechs you use are stock mechs only........no individually created meta builds allowed...... Do that, create that and I'm pretty sure many more would gladly play. 1x1/2x2 is the worst possible scenario. JMO

First off, ARK is a terrible buggy mess of a game with the worst UI I've ever seen. PGI looks godly as a developer in comparison.
Second of all, I'm sure in the 90s, if you'd asked college students to pick between Quake and MW2, 99% would have picked Quake as well. Some games have multi-million dollar marketing budgets on top of the hype momentum that comes from famous developers. There's not a whole lot PGI can do about that.
With MWO Solaris, all it will take will be a leaderboard and some bruised egos for the jealousy drive to kick in and start people spectating each other, if only to get a better idea how to smoke people the next time they encounter their personal nemeses.
Can't wait for this mode!

Solaris matches will most likely be like the last sword fight scene in Sanjuro.
<It's probably too "bloody" for the CoC for me to post it here without incident, if you get my drift.

Side note: I'm curious what steps if any PGI is taking to prevent abuse (for example, having a friend spectate and relay all the opponent's info (location, build, movement, etc.) over third party chat).

Do we realy need viewer/streamer/youtuber for a successful and funny Solaris mode?
I am not strange to modern marketing and use the net and sozial Media for my own business but can’t MWO survive and be successful without that crap?

Depends on your definition of "successful".
It can probably go on like it does for a couple more years if we keep paying for Mechpacks and are content with getting relatively little else. But if by "successful" you mean anything resembling growth, then yes, MWO would probably benefit massively from being more streamable / viewer friendly.

I think lots of us within this community will watch. Hell, we'd watch just about anything mechporn related. The question of the OP however is can anything be done to make it more watchable, more enticing to watch?
Well some utterly stupid FFA 2v2v2v2 sure isn't the answer. I mean who would wanna watch people hide for 15mins? Given that is all it'll come down too, but then people that are unable to understand, never will.
The problem is it will be as interesting as, it is. Literally. This is governed by the players. In MWA there were Top Tier pilots and also guys that were very much, not good, and running very bad builds for 1v1. Which is exactly what will happen in Solaris (despite uneducated people stating MWA was all Top Tier, it wasn't, but again when you talk about something you have have no idea about... well...)
End of the day Solaris will show people just how bad they are at the game and after being repeatadly flogged they will simply give up on Solaris rather quickly... This is the real issue with Solaris, there is no way to fix that.

solaris needs to have 8 player free for all or 2v2v2v2 team free for all
the players that consistently win the most against 7 other players would be the truly good players
because thats not just testing the strength of your build. its testing every skill you have to beat out 7 other players.
as long as the ranking system is based on damage and kills as much as being the last player alive... that way you cant just run and hide till the very end.
I don't think FFA will ever work because people WILL collude. Hell it has happened during chassis events, the bigger the unit the easier it would be. Sync drops have been a thing since the beginning of time.

How many players only hide until the very end in PLAYERUNKNOWN's Battlegrounds, which by the way can have up to three million people playing concurrently?

Exactly.
Although sometimes in PUBG you just don't see anyone for 5mins even running across the map lol.

I'm a bit older and agree ! YTes, it could if you had someone in charge with the drive to actually market the freaking game???
Too costly? Really??? A new FPS shooter in their drive for city corporate sponsors went to venture capitalists directly and asked if they wanted to be involved !!! AT ZERO COST.....
No we don't because no one even knows or cares about MWO to watch the free media....! That would only be for internal consumption. Externally, there are a bunch of ways to free market this game and possibly entice a few new players............but, PGI isn't ever going to do that. I can 100% telkl you that I'll watch a hand full of Solaris matches, write the game review I promised and wait till MWO evolves into something else or fails.....
