Hi guys. I'm an old time MW player looking for a little help getting up to speed. I played this game in Alpha and Beta but stopped for a long time. Just need someone to answer some questions and help fill me in on the current Meta and what Mechs to purchase.

BTW do not disregard the Mech Academy training area. Some new training, XP and C-bills there.

If you're from beta, that means pre-Clans.
A lot has changed. There's an entirely different tech tree, plus a pile of stuff that's been added on the Inner Sphere side. Skills have been greatly expanded and you no longer have to skill up three different variants to master any one. But the nice news is that even a lot of older chassis types are still perfectly useful, if not outright good for play.
What you've got is a good start, assuming you're willing to share.
