I'll give that a try, thanks. Been having a blast with the other fleas, just can't seem to get the hang of this one.

Bring double artillery strikes for extra damage.

Dood its a light. Always double strikes
, most of the time double UAVs (sometimes cool shots, depends on the build)

The standard smalls are fine. I prefer the range and make great use out of it, but the extra heat efficiency gained by dropping to standards is a worthy trade-off.
Really, I can't complain about the performance of the 'Mech as I have it built; easy 500+ without strikes, and have already taken it to 800 on multiple occasions.

Update: I have converted my 2x MPL + 5x ERSL build to standard smalls full time:

I am a monster.

Yeah I love that.
I never would have tried that grouping had you not suggested it. The synergy is real. Thanks my dude.

I've been using it on the LCT-3M for a long time, now; three MPL and a pair of Smalls. With the cool-down quirk, I always preferred the extra range that offered over the 6x SPL build on the LCT-1E. The 1E is best as a MedLas boat.

First time I fought one - it was too low to target, even with full pitch perks. Doesn't seem to matter how you would outfit - just get in tight and use the game mechanic to your advantage

I mean, I don't actually get that close. Most of my fighting happens between 100 and 250 meters. I get in close to juke something so I can then speed away and resume poking from a more preferable angle and distance.
The exception, of course, are the MG boats. There, I have to fight at 150 or less to avoid wasting damage potential.

Run arm weapons, unlock your arms, lock your target, and put the small circle in the middle of the big red box.
There are and should be downsides to running nothing but torso weapons.

Man, that fle-17 5xSL 2xMPL build is beastly! Since I started using it I’m often near the top of the match standings. The masc makes it amazing up close - most mechs really struggle trying to counter the tight turning radius it affords.
Ive decided I actually like the structure bump. The survival quirks are 4% per node, so the 17 gets quite durable even after armor is stripped.
This guy definitely excels at getting to the back side of the big guys, in ways that I haven’t been able to achieve with my other lights.
