Wont matter either way Solaris isn't popular and many wont bother with it.

Its 69.8 heat to fire the superspooky alpha everyone worries about now a days, each coolshot only frees up 18 heat. So if you're using double coolshots you've only still made up for about half of an alpha, you also had to spend useful skill points on said coolshot, you also use up 80k cbills a match doing it.

I'm not really forgetting anything here. It helps you get an extra alpha off back to back a little faster once or twice in a match, but the whole point was that the super high laser alpha like that shouldn't even be an issue in Solaris due to the ease of focusing down on the enemy.

The reason lasers are meta isn't because of coolshots, its because of teamplay in this game. Teams in quickplay mostly sit around hiding behind stuff, which means that if you can poke for high alpha you can win trades each time you peek out and shoot a guy. Teams in group play that are more advanced will employ focus fire and high alpha strikes can let them kill someone quickly if that person doesn't react fast. Though the teams running high alpha laser builds already lose to those running fast brawlers who close distance and out tank, out sustain, and out DPS the laser builds all while spreading damage around because you can't be a brawler if you haven't learned to spread damage.

there's only one statement that's correct there - that matches would be longer.

i dunno why "increase ttk" fellows think that increasing ttk would help newbies or more casual players.

it makes it WORSE for them because good players are consistently good. that's what makes them good. duh.

increasing ttk means that a lesser skilled pilot has even less chance of winning against good players, because luck matters exponentially less and less the longer you drag ttk out. and a lesser pilot needs luck to win against better players.

just imagine if you need three headshots now to take down a mech instead of one. if that's your hail mary, you're screwed.

if you find being kicked around like a tomato can for 10 seconds not your idea of fun, you DEFINITELY won't find being kicked around for 30 seconds any closer to what you think fun is.

PGI already said theyre going to rebalance the game around solaris.

That means weapons will do reduced damage in all gamemodes lol.

good players should also have to consistently play other good players. the fact theyre allowed to play bad players is part of the problem.

lesser skilled pilots shouldnt even be in the same games as good players in the first place.

allowing such a huge skill gap between the best and worst players in any given game is the real problem.

solaris is supposed have a real ELO matchmaking system to prevent that. we'll see.

I hope pgi tests out this new elo system on live servers and gather feedback. Players could get like 5 mil cbills or something by filling in a survey.

Excuse me if i don't trust pgi to release something as huge as this as a mess and refuse to change it after. Either that or do something moronic like having an event on while ptr is up.

The energy draw and skill tree sagas probably still make a significant part of the playerbase here shudder just by mentioning them.

is not others as in other Games ...BF 3 or 4 for Example ...in this games you have no fun ..you can leave the server and searching a new server with Folks in your Experience Class ...thats the problem from Games like MWO ...War Thunder or Robocraft...how many Games in robocraft im seeing with Folks thats not have one Weapon one her "Vehicle"..games like War Thunder have a Vehicle system with Time Ages ...mordern Vecicles only for buy or with many Experience to become , you musst climbed slow the Experience Ladder with many Games to become a B29
