I was reading about weekend events every weekend that I could win MC in but I've not seen one since picking the game up a week or two ago. Did these get discontinued? I was hoping to maybe build some MC to grab a cheap Hero mech for cbill farming.

Weekend events do not happen every weekend and the rewards are not always the same. Be patient and you'll get a bonus MC weekend event.

Awesome thanks, I was just worried because I found some complaints about them too and didn't know if maybe they had been deemed too disruptive. I have no problem being patient, having a blast with my Hunstman for now anyways just excited to try other mechs.

My girlfriend has been saying she might give the game a try with me and I can use St. Paddy's Day to pull her in XD.

Good Evening, realGUD... I never thought I would land up seeing a thread like this, but it looks like you're a New Player which I land up apologizing to.
Unless some people at PGI have been dragged away by Real Life, or a certain troublesome hiccup with a Recent Event caused a temporary restriction of New Events, there's a chance I might be the one single person in MWO's Community to blame. "Why?", you might ask... Well, I've been posting in the Forum Threads for most of the Recent Events where I'm actually able to participate to a reasonable state of completion with Reviews & Ratings of each one. (Of a rather contrasting note, I could swear I remember there have been people who have stated that they watch for a Review & Rating from me to read, and I think that they mentioned enjoying those reads.) Unfortunately, where I intend to help improve the Development & Launch of Future Events, it would be equally very likely that certain PGI Staff Members are taking a major insult (albeit rather highly unnecessary) from my doing so. Such could happen even though I actively try my best to avoid any insults, because I don't intend insults in any way with those Reviews.
Just for some insight, when I'm writing out each Review & Rating, I'm always trying to consider from all the sections of the Player Base and such. This ranges from the New Player, through those who are still putting an effort into learning, up to the Casual-Class Pilots, over into those who have Severe Time Limits imposed by their Real Life, and even up to the Elite Tier (that I'm not a part of) group. I'll even think about and consider the Development Effort that was placed into setting up the Challenges which are present for players to complete. However, one thing holds true over my outlook when I'm writing out a Review & Rating, which is "Did they keep it 'Challenging, yet still reasonably Attractive', such that they could get maximum participation from the Player Base?" and I will admit that I tend to give better Reviews & Ratings to the ones where that question can be answered with a "Yes." easily without the feeling like I had to push myself to overcoming my own conscience in coming to that conclusion.
Probably, someone could ask in reference to me, "Is this nut some kind of 'crazy perfectionist' or something?", and I wouldn't blame them at all for thinking that. But yeah, the total sudden lack of Events being posted for MWO's Entire Community may indeed be entirely my damned fault. So to you and any other New Players, as well as anyone who's grown rather accustomed to having a Community-Wide Event at least once every two weeks, you have my sincerest apologies as I'm possibly the cause of this emptiness and I'm rather sorry that this situation has occurred. (It looks much like I'm going to have to go quiet, rather to the chagrin of a section of the Player Base, even though I would prefer not to do wrong by them either.)
Of course, if I haven't really 'seen the writing on the wall', and I'm not the singular-and-only direct cause as to this 'Dry Spell'??? Well, then I severely invite a PGI Staff Member to post on this thread to make my current claim 'null-and-void' on the matter. Strangely, this will simultaneously effectively crack a huge pun at my personal expense.
~Mr. D. V. "The currently easily depressed, but rather friendly, 'Event Reviewer' of MWO... Sorry, folks!" Devnull
