The current big poll has gotten quite a large response but there are good mechs with fun lore that need love too that would be fun and good in game. Some of the mechs I talk about will be on the poll but some currently are not.

Also it should be noted that all of these mechs have potential to be good in MWO. It can be hard to say how they'll fair after going thru PGI. (Could be stronger, could get gimped) Still it's better to go with a mech that offers strong potential as a starting place.

IS Lights
Currently there is only the Commando at 25 tons so imo this is the weight the next IS light should be.

- Brigand, same engine as most Coms but also offers JJ and an ECM variant. Solid hard points and a body that spreads dmg and is potentially favored by the volumetric gods give it high marks. It's also a pirate mech so you could be Captain Mech beard in it.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Brigand

- Nexus, very fast with JJ or ECM. Great HPs, high mounts and a slender chassis means shots go thru the gaps, etc. Comstar mech based on the Jackrabbit. It could get Jackrabbit based variants (with HP inflation plz haha) that could give it a MG boat or at least give it a different flavor.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Nexus

- Raptor, this one has a number of fans but honestly it's also a great choice for a 25 tonner. Moderate speed but thanks to being an Omni (The very first IS omni) it can have 11 energy HP or 10E & ECM plus JJ. It also has options for missiles or ballistics, all high mounted.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Raptor

- Koto, this is basically the IS's Locust IIc. Super fast with a 200 stock engine as well as having good hps and mounts. It's a Solaris designed mech so with Solaris coming it could make some sense.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Koto

- Mongoose, another super fast mech with a 200 stock engine as well as having an ECM variant with MASC. Sadly no JJ but plenty of firepower and speed plus a fun to say name means this should be on everyone's list.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Mongoose

IS Mediums
40 tons is short but honestly there just aren't many 40 tonners worthwhile.

- Sha Yu, not exactly struggling but a 40t mech with more potential is hard to find. ECM, good HPs and mounts along with ECM on every variant
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Sha_Yu

- Lynx, fast, 55T,JJ, great HPs and high mounts with a chassis that spreads dmg equals a mech with potential. Could use a smidgen of inflation but it's still a great choice.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Lynx

- Sentry, decent speed with an even mix of 4 energy and 4 ballistic HPs. It also has JJ so it'd be quite solid and different from other 40t mechs.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Sentry

- Bloodhound, very fast 45 tonner with a 315 stock engine. It offers mostly energy with a touch of missile as well as an ECM variant. Another highlight is it could have an epic frontal profile.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Bloodhound

- Lightray, Would be the fastest 55 tonner in the game. Stock 385 means it would easily be able to have a 400 if you really want it to. It also has good hardpoints and some high mounts as well.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Lightray

IS Heavy
This weight is pretty balanced but 60T has the least chassis.

- Anvil, High mounts, shield arms, ECM, JJ with plenty of speed means the Anvil has tons of potential in MWO. Mostly energy but it also has an energy/missile mech.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Anvil

- Lancelot, 60 tonner that has a 360 stock means this would be crazy fast for it's weight. It also has high mounts, JJ along with great variant variety.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Lancelot

- Black Hawk-Ku, 60t IS version of the Nova. Has all the energy as well as the tonnage to cool them. It has JJ as well as ECM. There are of course other hardpoints though. Also a great pick for IS omnis.
http://www.sarna.net...i/Black_Hawk-KU

- Toyama, 75 tons and it has everything that you want. High mounted energy and ballistics, ECM as well as good speed makes us all happy.
http://www.sarna.net...ma_(BattleMech)

- Dragon Fire, Offers ballistic arms that are cockpit height so it's fairly unique when compared to anything near it in weight. It also has ECM and a dmg spreading chassis. However it might not be exactly PG rated but senpai will notice you.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Dragon_Fire

IS Assaults
85 & 95 still have less chassis but overall balance is good here.

- Sagittaire, Mostly cockpit height energy but it also has a variant with ballistics in each arm that could be quite exceptional. It's frontal profile should also help it spread dmg. It also has JJ but it is 95t so idk if you'd want them.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Sagittaire

- Gunslinger, high mounted energy with possibly decent arm ballistic mounts. It also has ECM & JJ which for an 85t mech are just 1t. Also if you look carefully at the cockpit you can see that you can disguise yourself as a speed boat when under water.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Gunslinger

- Cerberus, Mixes ballistics and energy but each ballistic is in a separate spot. 400 capable so in some ways you could say this is a better ballistic Banshee. The shoulder mounts are also quite high.
http://www.sarna.net...us_(BattleMech)

- Viking, mostly a missile boat with ballistics it also has an excellent variant in the 2G that mixes ballistics and energy with ECM.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Viking

- Sasquatch, Offers a mix of ballistic and energy as well as being Battlemaster fast this 85t Solaris assault also has a JJ variant. If it got it's shield it could be quite awesome as well.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Sasquatch

Clan Lights
Clans have just one 20 & 25 tonner so those are the weights that have more need in comparison.
- Bear Cub, 25 ton battlemech with a mix of energy & missile. It's stock 200 means it'd be quite fast as well but no JJ.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Bear_Cub
- Fire Falcon, 25t Omni with plentiful hard points for all 3 weapon types. Locked 200xl, Endo & FF but no JJ. Has high mounts though.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Fire_Falcon
- Solitaire, 25t battlemech that runs 162kph out of the box and even has a MASC variant. Only energy weapon hardpoints though.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Solitaire
- Horned Owl, 35 ton battlemech with JJ & Firestarter speed. Has missile boat ability, MG boat or laser vomit. (Totally not a Zaku)
http://www.sarna.net...Owl_(Peregrine)
- Incubus, 30 ton battlemech with a solid mix of energy and ballistics with a touch of missile. Runs 151kph stock with it's 270XL. It gets balanced by not having JJ or as many HPs as the AC.
http://www.sarna.net...Incubus_(Vixen)

Clan Mediums
Clans have a very balanced line-up so no really weight concerns here.
- Vapor Eagle, 55 ton battlemech that has it all. Fast, JJ with a great variety of weapons. Could make a strong case for best Med in game if added.
http://www.sarna.net...Eagle_(Goshawk)
- Mongrel/Grendel, 45t Omni that offers good speed, high mounts, JJ and hardpoint variety. Strong potential here.
http://www.sarna.net...ngrel_(Grendel)
- Coyotl, 40t Omni with high mounts, decent hardpoints, JJ and good speed. Needs more variants though.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Coyotl

Clan Heavy
Only the Mad Dog at 60t but the other weights have multiple chassis.
- Hellfire, 60 tons, described as an Omni but with Battlemech variants. It has high mounts and numerous hardpoints. Relatively slow with it's stock 240 it does have a MASC variant as well as a variant with a bigger engine. Could be quite strong.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Hellfire
- Thresher, 60 ton battlemech. Exceptionally fast with a 300xl stock and MASC. Mixes all weapon types and might have some convergence issues.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Thresher
- Matador, 60 ton battlemech. Decent speed but with plentiful hardpoints as well as JJ. Also has good mounts as well. Lots of potential here.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Matador
- Black Python, 75t battlemech. Would probably be the strongest heavy in game if added. 375XL stock, JJ, ECM along with plentiful and good hardpoints.
http://www.sarna.net..._Python_(Viper)

Clan Assault
80 & 95t are the least represented but the 80t slot looks pretty locked in.
Canis, 80t battlemech with Blood Asp style ballistic mounts. Mixes ballistics with energy. It also has JJ but a small stock engine, 240xl. It is a battlemech so that's not as big a weakness. No HG problems with this mech though.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Canis
- Savage Coyote, 85t Omni. Numerous variants with lots of hardpoints. Also offers JJ. The downside is it comes with a locked 255xl and no endo nor FF but that does mean it has plenty of slots.
http://www.sarna.net...i/Savage_Coyote
- Blood Kite, 85t battlemech with lots of missile hardpoints. 255 stock but it's a BM. Also has JJ but it lacks variants. Probably one of the ugliest mechs ever and idk if even Alex could save it. Still, it has good potential in game.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Blood_Kite
- Scylla, 100 ton battlemech with a good spread of weapons. It also has high mounts and JJ along with a 400xl stock.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Scylla
- Jupiter, 100t battlemech with a 400xl stock and a mix of all weapon types. Not many high mounts but it does offer a JJ variant.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Jupiter

Which ones did you like best? Are there other mechs that would be strong that don't rely on quirks?

BTW, the ppl that make new mechs are not the ones who do balance so let's just talk about the mechs.

Make sure to hit up Gas's poll or any other that props up and support these mechs. (Remember you can vote for more than one chassis so don't worry about that)

Fix the mechs that are already in the game.

Like the Nightstar.

I want Vapor Eagle / Goshawk) as next Clan 55 ton Medium. It have plenty of hardpoints, more good different variants and have jj. I honestly rather have Goshawk than Blanner, it will so much better mech as 55 ton Clan medium.

The Nightstar may not be on the Mad Cat II's level but it's not bad.

However it should be noted as ever that the people that do balance are not the ones who do new mechs which are going to keep coming.

I agree with the list of mechs, they all strong performance mechs that can help out in the IS meta while aat the same time seems fun to run with.

But I'm weary on some things like how mechs with JJ's, or ECM tends to be lacking on HP inflation as if JJ or ECM is more than enough to keep mechs aflot.

But still yeah mechs like these need more votes.

I will never understand how anyone wants the Blood Kite in this game, it simply put looks atrocious. It's like a Battlemech made by a 5 year old, guns stacked on guns, missile pods hanging off missile pods with lasers strapped to em and for some reason features the universe's most massive feet. Where's the mech?? it's just GUNS and FEET

I would agree with whatever mech has already been mentioned over things like the Flea, which is dead before launch with the Piranha already in game. The Flea can't even remotely reach the performance of a Piranha, and a similar role is all it is good for. The Fafnir? I would never buy that hunk of junk, it's an Annihilator with far easier to destroy side torsos. Going to armour quirk it to death? Hah, it will still die horribly with those hit boxes from hill humping gauss snipers. It's a bigger Thanatos! I was interested in the Flea long ago when the concept art was first promoted but it's a joke now. The Inner Sphere needs a lot of love, our "meta" mechs are the same old things they were two to three years ago. Buying nostalgia mechs is great, I have certainly pre-ordered a few but releasing things that aren't even decent performers in faction just leads to buyers remorse. We need a statistically good new mech PGI, one that is an actual performer if you want people to keep playing IS tech (and having two factions is the present lifeblood of this community's end game). Otherwise just open up faction to Clan vs. Clan because we're kind of performance-starved here and most comp teams focus Clan tech anyway for the obvious reasons and I don't blame them.

I totally would of included the Longbow but HG issues and I was also not including mechs with 200+ votes in Gas's poll. Still that NAIS variant would be pretty sweet.

It makes me sad that people want new mechs, when what they should be wanting is a massive Highlander buff. Shame one of the sexiest mechs in the game is so underused because of how terribad it can be/is.

I feel like the Anvil would be a good addition. Although I feel like I'd rather have a Thunderbolt with ECM as a direct counter to the Hellbringer. With decent offensive quirks.

Not sure you know what you're talking about...

1 the flea is more akin to a LCT. And will most likely be played as one. As such I assume it will be MUCH shorter than the Piranha. The DOA calls for the Flea are like people said the RFL was DOA because the Jaeger was in the game (RFL> than Jaeger). Personally I cannot wait for the Flea, and I struggle with the Piranha (cockpit is very claustrophobic, and most run stupid hot). I expect to have a MASCed version of the LCT-1V or even PB.

2 Annihilator has across the board trash mounts. Every one of them. the Fafnir has high, in line, mounts. As such it is suited to a much DIFFERENT roll than the Annihilator. I would actually buy a Faf (for Cbills because I don't like assaults) but I will never buy an Annihilator.

Personally I still want the OSTSCOUT, because I would like to see how PGI would approach either the original (unseen) or the revamp.

Id like to see the Naga, Catapult C3, and possibly the Thunderhawk.

add arrow IV to the game for those mechs as a hardwired weapon system

id also like to see a Naga with 8 missile hardpoints and most of the existing catapults updated to 8 hardpoints

The last thing we need is more new mechs that dont add anything new in terms of gameplay.
