You knew that this was: Another rant about QP search times. Just now me and a friend were sitting there for about 30 minutes waiting for a match, watching T.V. and the like, and I'd just gotten sick of it and killed the group so we can simply just enjoy the game and actually...play.
So how about within two minutes, we both get into a match and see each other on the exact same team?
And here I was under the impression that this went by tonnage or what type of mech you had, etc? Especially based upon what I was told. But there's no way that can be the case. Is QuickPlay search for groups really that completely broken? If so...
...Then why? Seriously.

Duos do have a hard time searching for a GQ match. I think it is probably faster for you guys to try sync dropping in solo-q, but be sure to have different weight classes.

You do have at least two servers selected? But yes I guess the playerbase in GQ is small at times.

Thats just it: It isn't even that small. I mean yes, the players are limited and we run into the same ones a lot of times, but the differences between a group waiting 30 minutes, versus separate people waiting 2 minutes only to get into the exact same game is...ridiculous. It actually doesn't make sense.
