Am I the only one here who remembers how wickedly strong these things were at the start of CW? People used to eject just to get them to fly in and bury half of the enemy team FFS, so the below is based on some very true accounts.

Yeah the ship flying over on HPG can end up having you shot

Usually not THAT close though, usually you gotta be more near the edge.
Maybe as a mech had a lock on you? Only thing i can think of but ye, weird.

Been seeing things like that happen on other maps as well. About 2 weeks ago on caustic, one of the targets I cored up to ct cored red was shot down way well in the middle of the map where dropships cant shoot and the target was nowhere near any dz or dropship what so ever. it somehow got shot down by a dropship that was leaving the map.

Pretty broken, dropships shooting were meant to prevent dropzone camping, not that it is that effective, but regardless you shouldn't be getting killed by a dropship when you are far away from the dropzone. And at the same time, please nerf dropships, I get headshotted by the dropship more often than an actual player.

It's not all that uncommon with IS XL engines. Most assaults'll choose to leave the XL's behind for that very reason. Heavies too, though of course, it does depend upon the mech and the pilot.

Dropships weren't nearly so bad at the beginning of CW, but folk wanted more vicious ships.

Wait what?
I'm not complaining because I died because of my XL (who the hell runs victors without XL anyway?).
I'm not complaining about dropships being too strong.

I'm complain that dropship shot me middle of the freaking map when they should shoot only at their own DZ locations.

Dropship bugs used to be very very common... being dropped out of map, stuck in dropship, dropship insta-kills, dropship hanging in the sky.. it's all normal really..

This is not uncommon..

Not uncommon maybe, but I stll wonder did it intend to shoot the weakest component that being ST, or did it aim at CT but due to movement and possibly angle hit ST?

I have a XL Victor... Works fine as well.

Again, good player can shield no worries. I also have a LFE one. Depends which team I am playing with etc.

This happens to me once every month or so.
Most extreme case i had was getting shot right as i droped at the dropzone on HPG.

Again fair,i don't own a victor, but id rather go with a LFE personally, XL in a light or med ok... but anything heavier no thank you IMO.
