Usually not THAT close though, usually you gotta be more near the edge.
Maybe as a mech had a lock on you? Only thing i can think of but ye, weird.

Dropships weren't nearly so bad at the beginning of CW, but folk wanted more vicious ships.

I'm not complaining because I died because of my XL (who the hell runs victors without XL anyway?).
I'm not complaining about dropships being too strong.
I'm complain that dropship shot me middle of the freaking map when they should shoot only at their own DZ locations.

Again, good player can shield no worries. I also have a LFE one. Depends which team I am playing with etc.

Most extreme case i had was getting shot right as i droped at the dropzone on HPG.

Again fair,i don't own a victor, but id rather go with a LFE personally, XL in a light or med ok... but anything heavier no thank you IMO.
