It should be called the combat rotary auto pistol 2, or 2CRAP for short.

Better to call it the Combat Rotary Auto Pistol .5, because it's only worth half a stolen ****.

Its garbage either way.. hitreg, face time and a pointless waste of money.

Only PGI could ruin what should be great weapons.

I know right?

Don't get me wrong, the face-time is kind of warranted, it is expected of what is a massive dakka payload in such a small-package. But RACs in general are just poorly handled, and RAC2 being weak AF is just a symptom of it.

Hit-Reg issues is also probably more of technical problems than weapon problems.

Agreed 100% Hitreg is a larger issue that compounds it more.

I've actually had pretty good success with RAC2s

I put 3 RAC2 and 4 Med laser on a MAD-3R and can get some high damage numbers ( a lot of top damage and 800+ is fairly easy) - sure you could do two Rac5 - but the heat from 3 rac is a tad more efficient. I also like to stagger my fire rate on 3 different weapon groups for the Racs for ultimate screen flash/shake - It is impossible to see anything with that level of dakka to a cockpit. Most people just panic

I also put 2 Rac2 on my Annihilator 2A build - I was not a fan of the 6AC5 build as I could not have enough ammo with max engine rating - so I swapped out the 2 AC5 in the arms with Rac 2s - so I have 4 AC5 and 2 Rac 2 - it is my ultimate suppression mech. Enemies will not be able to stand up to you because of the racs (saving your armor sometimes) - and the constant drilling from the AC5s is deadly

I think they could use a small damage buff and/or a decrease in time to jam, but I also think they are underrated by the community

the rac 2 isint bad, it should however not have ghost heat. Its very handy to bring in the dakka on the enemies. If it did 2 dmg per shell it would be very op hence why racs dont do much dmg becuase of their range and dps.

rac2s are ok if you want range, but i dont go with any rac if i want to kill things.

RAC2 will only be good if PGI decides that massively buffing it will help sell a mech pack, just like making machine guns the highest functional damage per ton(or fraction of a ton) in the game. Balancing anything is pretty obviously a distant priority compared to manipulating FOTM game play to support the cash shop.

I go with 2 RAC5s over 3 RAC2s because the RAC2s seem to have less up time before you have to let them cool down.
