Can't change it to Borderless Fullscreen because the game runs so poorly stutter and FPS issues make the game unplayable, Fullscreen it runs smoothly..

Can't minimise the Fullscreen because the game then flickers and crashes or just will not come back?

Why?

What has changed in your world? You have over 800 posts, did it work before? I had issues last month...it was impossible to navigate the mech lab. I got a new mouse, and all is golden. Check your audio and video drivers.

Nothing, i usually run fullscreen and generally don't minimize, but i just changed to borderless to allow minimizing but the game ran so poorly i had to change it back to fullscreen.

Fricken weird i don't usually have these issues with games.. is it Cry engine?

With your specs you should be able to run it in full window mode. Full window doesn't cause crashes, unlike full screen.

AHHH, I knows what your talking about. Has always run like that for me, I got in the habit of running full screen and alt-tabing. I have done it so long, that I forgot about it. Task manager is the first thing I start when I want to play. Working as intended.....YAAHHH BABY!

So your game goes bad as well in borderless but fullscreen is fine? That is so weird i've never seen this issue in other games.

Fullscreen runs smooth but cannot be minimised or it crashes if i force it.
Borderless Fullscreen can be minimised fine but the game runs choppy and is pretty much unplayable fps wise.

No idea why.. I'm on the latest Nvidia drivers.

Have you updated your drivers recently? I was getting random crashes before my last update, and had about a 1/3 chance of getting back into the game if I alt tabbed. Works fine now.

I see this happen in other games, but minimizing or alt-tabbing once fixes it in those games. MWO I just play fullscreen and alt-tab if needs be.

Thats odd. I'm running a weaker system and borderless full screen allows dual screen use (1 with borderless full screen mwo, the other running another game) without much issue. Might be an old driver for the gpu.

Windows 10?

Me thinks the microcode update Intel put out for older systems for meltdown and spectre are live now (Microsoft integrating them into the OS, no bios update needed)
Windows 10 also has a habit of updating drivers by itself

Just guesses really

No matter what graphics settings I choose, I can't get above 100 average FPS

Again i'm using the latest. Newest drivers and i use DDU before installing.

Wild guess would be that some other process takes priority when you're in windowed mode but respects priority in full screen.

You might want to check that you're not suffering Win7 update bug either, it has nasty habit of eating a lot of processing power in addition to not updating your OS. Use task manager to see if some other process eats up CPU time.

Also might want to check you don't have any cryptomining virus on your system.

If it makes you feel any better, I've been having the same graphical bug for years now.. When I alt+tab out of the FP screen, and back into it, I get graphical glitches that turn my screen into a bloody strobe..

Support can't make sense of it.. they stopped trying..

i run windowed borderless and make sure you run the program as administrator.

Sounds like some of you have some frak up crap, either system issues or other programs interfering, which would not be the first time. 3 systems Intel CPUs, 2 w/Nvidia GPU now (soon to be one) and one AMD GPU. Full Window mode no issues.

OP you have done the full windowed mode. Do you have the same issue using simply Windowed mode (with borders). By default, when MWO is not the primary focused program its FPS is drastically cut. As noted by another

I was going to say, check your GPU usage when in that windowed mode as it sounds like the GPU is just being throttled back or something. Could be wrong.

i enabled my GPUs overlay, it makes not sense why this game will randomly drop down to 50% GPU usage while in combat.
