asking for opinions
is it any good (after C-bills that is)?
it does not having any armor quirks does that matter?
it has a teeny tinny amount of armor can on last longer then 2 min in one?
which one would you recommend getting
thanks

That being said, if you can't make a Jenner F work (which is even more agile than the Osiris), you are going to have problems in the Osiris.

Pros:
Locust speed. Only the fastest lights can keep pace which are few.
Jump jets. Get jumpy with it and you can own the maps and choose your fights. Many mechs can't aim up or down.
Nice mix of weapons for lasers. Others have missile options.
Cons:
CT IS A BARN. Take an awesome put it sideways and add locust legs. You'll take hits from everything. People who think the Jenners bad have a much lower profile.
Armor is trace paper thin. I've put 18 points to survival for the armor, left side of survival tree, and it really doesn't seem to do any good.
Osr is TALL. The mech stands pretty high. you'll want to find the lower or higher parts of maps to be. The less noticeable you are the less you'll be shot at. Use those jump jets and speed.
Overall I really like the mech. It plays a lot different than all the other lights. You can't rambo the enemy like you can in the locusts. Being super fast makes it fun to just run about capturing in conquest and incursion getting cells is easy money. Add on an lpl or ppc with a few meds or smalls then stay close to the heavies and assaults and you can rack up the damage as an orbiting laser platform as the bigger, higher alpha mechs tank incoming fire.
You can't win fighting other lights would be my biggest complaint about the mech. Most my other lights can hold their own but the osr just losses that battle all the time. Make like cobbra commander and run. Once you get the knack of fighting at optimal range and orbiting friendly mechs the mech is fun. The osr is defiantly a support mech that can relocate at max speed to be a reinforcement to your team to add extra fire power or shoot off other lights.

It's kind of halfway between a Jenner and a Locust. It has almost twice the CT armor of the Locust (only 4pts less than quirk-less Jenner), but it's faster and smaller than the Jenner. It's still easy to hit so you have to rely on speed + positioning to avoid damage. It seems like a solid pug light so far.
I'd go with the 4D for 6x(ER)ML or the 3D which can run 5.

It's pretty good. Stripped most of the armor on the missile hand and put rocket launcher in it. 5 ERML and 2 LMG (that are functionally 3 LMG, since +25% rof quirk) are nice for med range harassment and support.
But it's really really squishy. Locust feels like unstoppable jugernaut after you play Osiris. But it's not skilled yet, so will see, extra speed and armor should do good for it.

Top speed is faster on the Osiris, but the Jenner accelerates and turns faster.
I wouldn't say top speed helps you much. Being able to rapidly change vector and magnitude does.

I agree. Main point is that the Osiris is harder to hit than a Jenner, but easier to hit than a Locust.
Sure, the Jenner is more agile. That said the Jenner is also a barn. I love my Jenner F and I can put up solid numbers in it, but compared to something like the Wolfhound/Cheetah etc. it just feels terrible. I don't care how good of a pilot you are you just can't shield well against another good pilot.
I agree that agility is better overall for dodging, maneuvering, and peeking. It's why the Locust 3M was amazing for awhile. Speed does help some for things like capping or egressing from a situation and it can help you get into a position to kill something faster. There's also something to be said for the difference in just barely getting to cover and in eating an alpha right as you almost get into cover.

Locust and a Jenner are a lot sturdier than an Osiris..
The hero variant is a waste of money. I have the whole set and they are all good (bar the hero) in different ways but so so fragile..

My build is: 3 SPL, 2 MG, 2 ML and a SRM4, with a 245 XL engine and no JJs.
It's pretty good and very annoying for the heavies and assaults

It reminds me of the Jenner before it got kicked into the dirt.

meh, the Jenner has really bad hitboxes in comparison the the Osiris IMO. Osiris doesnt have an extra large CT.
I got the 3D and just run 6 lasers ER meds or normal meds do work with i think 12 or 13 DHS and 2 JJ's.

And frankly, the Jenner's hitbox shape these days is not the problem. Being big is its problem. But for poking? I find the two to perform more or less the same. If I want to mix it up with SRMs, I'm probably going to take the Osiris.
