As nice as night or thermal vision might be... What happened to basic light-bulbs?
Did the knowledge of search lights become lost to humanity when Kerensky left or something?

I hope I'm not asking for too much. Other FPS games have gun-mounted flashlights. Why not mount a large (even fixed) spot-light on a mech's CT or shoulder to illuminate areas in a cone in front of it for a respectable distance?

I'm tired of mucking about in these twilight times of 'too bright to justify the use of a vision mode, but too dark to see your feet' ...especially on maps like River City or Forest Colony. I'd just use my lasers to see things, but they keep overheating and shutting down on me, so as a light source I find them terribly unreliable.

Not sure if serious. You're basically asking for something which turns you into a glowing beacon visible from a distance.

The BattleMechs you're using in the game are made for fighting, not for taking leisurely strolls in the park at night.

Change the in-game gamma setting a little. That should alleviate the bulk of your grievance without putting your teammates at risk by way of turning into a glowing beacon in the distance.

Simple idea. With the new bolt on items one spot light. No weight, +1 hp, costs 100 MC for the part, and has an illumination range of 150 meters.

MW4 had both Headight and Flare (both sticking and aerial) tech. I wish MWO had both as well. The flares were especially helpful in marking mechs to target.

Would love a big spot that you can turn on and off. When you know there a stealth mech hiding around you hiding in the shadow, you light him up and you shot the crap out of him

Can be a good distraction to make the enemy squirrel hunt you, lol

A flare in the consumable slot would be fun !
