I dont know how exactly you calculate the scale, but being visually as wide from the front and as WHM and like half wider from the side doesn't seem right. And the legs are longer too.

Note that is does not have any arms to speak of unlike the Warhammer that has large arms. That volume has to go somewhere so the chassis is going to be larger when viewed from the side.

I am a locust fan and that's all that needs to sell me. Unfortunately it will have to wait a while . The spirit is willing but the wallet cannot buy everything at once and also I have a neglected IS account to give some financial love .

Great looking mech, I wonder how well its 'Arms' will stay on (re: Stalker)?

I still don't get the design with the "hand-grips" under the "arms"... The rest of the design (a locust on steroids) is okay for me, but the ugly grips....

The Set of 8 bonuses seem okay. They don't appear to be as good as the Mad Dog's, so it'll probably be fine to swap stuff around as you please.

-e-

Also, went in and looked at the mobility stats, and it's pretty much the same as the WHM-6R, except for a smaller Torso Yaw Angle, so it should perform quite well in that department.

-Double edit!-

Oh man, the cockpit. It's so good. No random beams in the way and lots of glass to look through. I'm excited.

Any chance we could get a scale comparison with the rest of the 70-tonners, just to highlight how hilariously barn-door-huge the Grasshopper's frontal profile still is?

*edit- not to knock on the new 'Mech at all. I rather like it, and might just go in for a set to keep the Vanguard company. Unlike the Summoner, it's actually capable of running some builds I think I'd enjoy. It's just that the prospect of another 70-tonner that's actually decent makes my GHR-5J that much sadder about still being terrible after half a decade.

Yeah, right...why even bother with a 70ton clan-tech based omni heavy that can boat or mix all weapon types and ECM while fielding a decent-sized engine and the only competition at its weight being the summoner.
How is this supposed to be even remotely viable...

-IRONY OFF-
Be happy it got any quirks.

Hey man, calm down there. The Nova Cat exists, too. ;)

GOOD GUYS PGI!!!!

All caps for a reason -- on the NGNG preview stream of the Sun Spider just now, Chris affirmed that players that were awarded the Dec 27 free Sun Spider hero but did not purchase any of the Sun Spider packs WILL (that is, YES) can purchase the base package mech omnipods in the store for it.

This was a really awesome thing for you guys to do. Kudos.

That's how the standard pack omnipods have always worked....they are available to everyone...what are you praising exactly?

No, the standard pack omnipods were always available to players that pre-ordered the mech.

There is, to my knowledge, no precedent for players receiving early access to mech omnipods that have not yet been released for C-Bills when those players have not pre-ordered the chassis. Even if it's only the standard pods.

That's because there's never been a hero available separate from the preorder packs; in the past, in order to get the hero, you had to buy at least the basic pack first before the option would unlock. Thus, anyone who had an omnimech hero prior to the MC release of the chassis always had access to the standard pack pods. The SNS is a special case, and it probably won't happen again unless PGI does another promotional giveaway like they did in December at the same time as announcing an omnimech for preorder.

Good afternoon. I updated MWO a few minutes ago, eager to try the new Roughneck and Sun Spider specials that I earned back in the December event. However, they are nowhere to be found and this web site's "see if you qualify" page is blank. Blank. As in nothing other than content frames and empty space. Is there an issue regarding the delivery of these two mechs?

I don't know what link you went to, but did you try this one? Should confirm you played that day.

Looks like there were some people who qualified and didn't get theirs right away, but it seems like they fixed something and most did get them by now. Dirty Scrub Casual, if yours still don't show up then you're supposed to email support.
