So, i was thinking about it and I cannot remember the last time i had a "good" match on the mining collective. I dont hate the map, i just never feel like i actually contribute in a big way to the win on my side.

So what is your map that you feel like you just suck at?

my head says HPG and mining.

Vitric Forge for CW.

Viridian Bog for group or solo quick play.

Yeah odd thing is my group and solo quick play Viridian Bog is the only one below 1 for W/L ratio at .91 so not bad.

My best map with a high number of games played is Crimson Strait, with a w/l ratio of 1.69.

Best map total is Vitric Forge, with a 2.40 ratio, but only 17 games on it.

Worst map is Mining Collective, with a w/l ratio of 1.06

River City in twilight conditions - can't see [redacted] with normal vision, can't see far away targets with night/heat vision.

if i were to ignore caustic due to sample size, stats say mining, which is strange cuz i like the map.

HPG - hands down, bar none. The map where logic goes to die; and, Toxic behaviors abound !

My worst FW map is Sulfurous Rift at 0.21 lol. Every time I PUG I run into premades on that map. For me it seams to be the PUGs attack and premades defend map. Contrast that to my best FW, Grim Portico, that sits at 1.63.

My worst Quick play map is Canyon at 0.96. All the rest are over 1 with Polar being my best at 1.49.

My stats tell me:

QP
Worst - Viridian Bog - 1.32 (Canyon close behind at 1.35)
Best - Forest Colony - 3.28

FP
Worst - Boreal Vault - 2.72
Best - Vitric Forge - 3.94


QP - wise the two worst maps are definately more so due to NASCAR and players unable to position properly (getting killing from above without realising). Players don't understand how to use terrain or that low-ground killboxes are bad news.

FP - wise Vitric does not surprise me as it's the hottest map and any players / teams just don't know how to attack or defend properly on it even after all these years.


My own feeling, outside the stats? HPG NASCAR is by far the most annoying/stupid followed by Mining. I get on comms regularly and tell people NOT to do it, but even Assaults do it anyway trying to "get an angle" and eventually die doing sub 200dmg. Some "angle" they gained.

Overall the hotter the map the better I seem to do stats wise. Again I think that comes back to being able to manage heat and position correctly. That is with me bringing, usually, quite hot builds as well. Plus a lot of hot maps like Terra etc, don't allow you to really "NASCAR" so you can have a much greater effect on a match if you are shooting rather than spending time runinng in a circle.

Worst map is canyon at 1.36 WLR, and Mining at 1.37 WLR. Most likely cause my pugmates tend to derp easily in those maps and die quickly, due to small map size and easy to get trapped kill boxes.

My worst map - without a second thought, Rubellite Oasis.

I hate everything about that map. That map is cancer.

Badly designed, unnecessarily hot (hottest map in the game, hotter than Terra Therma), and obviously designed only for brawlers and the occasional sniper, LRM boats have to be extremely lucky to get any chance on that map.

Also, it's full of graphical errors with textures becoming liquid and "flowing" in certain areas, bunch of unused spaces, and the central area is a shooting gallery with no cover, while the cover is abundant everywhere else to make LRMs difficult to use.

I also have to mention Terra Therma, but only for one reason - it's too dark. It's visually the most beautiful map in the game, but you don't get to see it cose' you have to use nightvision..

Ah no.

Terra / Caustic / Rub / Tourmaline = all the same ambient.

Also Rub is one of my better maps (limited games)... Again I run extremely hot builds that are skirmish usually. Not brawl and not sniper.

When I still cared about faction play getting vitric forge followed by any other map but especially alpine peaks. I always find myself asking where the hell did the giant blue star go and why I am now standing on a frozen mountain in ambient sunshine.
