So there is a 9 missile Battlemech variant on sale, but I'm wondering if that's too many missiles. I'm considering the other one, which has a couple of lasers that could fit some lasers or even a TAG. Or is the omni the way to go, even though it's slower?

Omni is not the way to go in this case.

You see, the Arctic Wolf is basically, THE better Jenner IIC. More tonnage, more everything pretty much.

Essentially the way to outfit it is with 4xSRM4, 6 tons of ammo, and the largest engine. And boom. There you have it.

Reason why I say this is because the Arctic Wolf is SUPER squishy; it falls apart easily if it takes hit. So we're resorting to using speed as a buffer to avoid damage. The faster a moving target the harder it is to hit it.

(Arctic Wolf - 1)

My favorite is the Omni with 3JJ, ECM, 4SRM6+A. You can move around freely, do a 48 damage pop tart, and fight larger mechs without giving them a chance to shoot back. It's hard to have a bad game.

The 1 is a better Jenner-IIC without JJs. I find it doesn't live very long though, without JJs and ECM. It's powerful, but a far more situational mech.

I found the energy variant quite hot. The missile heavy ones are the best. Also why on earth would you consider a TAG when the Artic Wolf has quite impressive NARC quirks and a hardpoint that is both centerline and above the head?

Just... just don't expect it can pull Assassin and you will be fine. Personally long-range build seems better deal for Arctic Wolf for a long run.

Hm, so many options. I think that the 9 missile one (-1) of the better of the 2 Battlemechs.
The A seems like the best omni.

I'm farming up the C-bills. My 2x HGauss 4x ERML Sleipnir is a good machine for grinding. Soooo good.

I like the Omni as a support mech. I have mine equipped with ECM and JJs and a pair of ATM-9s (ACW-PRIME). I use the ECM to help cover my heavy and assault teammates, then when the battle starts I pop up with the JJs and fly my ATMs over their heads as they fight. Keeps me safer, helps my team, and keeps enemies outside of the ATM minimum range.

I bought the on sale 9M one for now. I'm using it with a pile of SRMs and a NARC. It's quite good.

I bought the on sale huntsman. I'll save up for the omni Arctic Wolf now.

You can try one with ECM right torso, 3xJJ left torso, 2x HML in the right arm and 3x ATM6. 74 Alpha for fairly low heat on the unwary and the JJs help you to juuust push the ATMs over cover.

5xA+SRM4 with 6 tons of ammo and a XL 300 is quite fast and quite fun. Strip the arms, this all fits in the torsos. You can take off a ton of ammo and add ammo racking and an extra DHS.

Just fire them 3 then 2

The spread is quite minimal and you can eliminate an assault from behind in a flash.

Depends what you wanna do with the Arctic Wolf.

If you wanna build a LRM boat, the Battlemech is the way to go, because you're gonna have to stuff in an engine half the size of the stock one, and invest the tonnage into LRM ammo. I think I used a 220 CXL engine, which gives me a top speed of 81km/h,and a loadout of 4xLRM10 with sufficient ammo and two HSL..

If you want a brawler with SRMs, you can take the Omni, because it can have some much needed Jump Jets..
