I would think they are splitting you up to organize lances by mech size / role . I dought it is ment to be rude

Then they disrupt the synergy of groups who, for example, intentionally pair Light hunters with Assaults in their groups. They don't know what anybody not in their own group brought other than the chassis.

Hey guys..

I don't know about you, but It irks me greatly when I'm in a two-person group, we both have the same unit tags, and then the matchmaker puts us in two different lances..

It bothers me even more when somebody takes group lead and drags one of us into different lances even though we have the same unit tags and were in the same lance originally.

I usually play with my significant other, and we play as a team on most occasions, so being able to see her on the minimap and seeing what grid location she is on is important to me.

And then, there are some people who are rude enough to switch us around, split us up into different lances, and be rude about it even after being asked politely to put us back together into the same lance.

Am I the only one who is bothered by this? Who thinks splitting people with the same unit tags up is rude?

I get it if people are in a group but you don't know it cose' they don't share unit tags.

but if they do.. don't split them up?

Some are trolls.

Met one guy who apologized profusely and I am pretty sure it was a case of OCD since I ran into him a bunch, so gave em a pass.

Other than that I find most folks don't mess around too much, but I certainly understand your frustration.

The incredibly easy solution to this is for PGI to introduce a third designator for mechs that are in your group but not in your lance, ie blue icons for team mates, green for lance mates, gold for group mates. The color doesn't even matter, so long as you can distinguish the people in your group from your matchmaker assigned teammates.

But easy solutions aren't what PGI specializes in.
