Please help.
After purchasing a new mech I attempted to chain weapons in-game. I can't figure out how to de-select the weapons group box in-game. As a result, I cannot use the WASD keys to move or to turn.

You don't deselect it. The weapon group controls do not use WASD at all, they use the cursor keys, Control and Backspace

If that doesn't solve the problem, check your keyboard mappings in the settings.

You may have accidentally opened chat at some point. The in game chat during matches will lock your movement WASD keys. Simply press enter to get them back.
The weapon groups and chain firing will not and cannot lock out your controls.
