Is that a thing in MWO? Haven't seen anything even remotely odd from all time I've been playing this game. Just curious, because I don't know any other pvp based game on PC, p2p/f2p/you name it, which doesn't have significant number of people using stuff like aimbot, wallhack, etc.

There's a Meme concerning them
They're Mediocre, as Ross puts it

IE, perpetual Terribads, even with wallhacks
It's a small enough issue to outright ignore

@OP if you want to talk hacks/enforcement or lack there of you need to do it outside of these forums (Reddit).. PGI does not allow discussion of hacks or cheats on official forums and the official party line is:

There is no significant cheating in MWO and if there was PGI would catch it pretty quickly and ban the offender.

PGI took about 1.5 years to catch on to a cheating trend... but after a month or two of investigating, banned a large number of players including 30 of the top performing players that you can find on Jarl's list for seasons 1-5. (Search for MWO forum group "Banned" or look at old threads for purple names).

This said, it isn't impossible but it isn't easy to cheat due to the server-authority nature of MWO. And that's a good thing.

That was 1.5 years into the game becoming "released", though... And maybe only 4 months to people posting videos of working methods to cheating..

Yes there is cheating. The server-authoritative aspect doesn't really mitigate that as much as some players would like to believe.

The relatively low population on the other hand creates a low demand for people to create and spread/sell cheats.

Once someone in our group got headshotted while moving--in a fresh Orion-IIC. That was the closest I came to accuse someone of hacking. The cockpit is just so frigging small.

Thanks for the info, I got what I wanted to know, you can safely lock it away. Posted Image

On the side note, jut got curious, because I haven't even seen anyone ever accusing someone of cheating on top of never seeing anything suspicious myself. I just can't believe system can be coded so well to be completely hack proof, but looks like it is at some degree... I suppose there can be no argument that someone with aimbot, even not blatant one, could completely ruin the match.

Being totally honest: maybe there are, but who cares? It's not like this is a competitive e-sports game with real money on the line....it's a niche game that can't decide between shooter or sim, between keeping the die hard lore hounds eager for any BT/MW they can get and going to the arcade FPS style where competition is tough but rewards are far greater...but really, anyone using hacks in this game is clearly overcompensating for other...things...lacking....
