Since my Piranha fun video, which was my first, was used to try and justify a position on whether lights were op or not, I wanted to post the full videos instead of just the kills. Below are the links to four videos. 2 are 4 kill matches and 2 are 3 kill matches. I also have several no, 1 and 2 kill videos, but the fun video came from most of these 4 matches.

If you notice almost all my kills come late in the game when the battlefield is full of damaged mechs. You will see I cycle targets frequently looking for those damaged mechs. If I cant find any, I am dropping air strikes or shooting and moving. I also use my lasers as the primary weapons with the MG’s second when I see armor. Once I see internals I use both. I also use the MG between laser shots or when heat is an issue.

So now you can draw what ever conclusion you want.

Hi RustyBolts, as the culprit who copied the link (I couldn't quote you between threads unfortunately) I want to apologize if it upset you. It wasn't my intention at all, in fact I did say they looked like clean kills to me.

Your video post showed up on the forum in the heat of a long ongoing back and forth discussion where one side (my side) said one thing (Piranha an OP killing machine & game has stupid mechanics that it can exploit) and the other side said "no its not, show me proof" -- and all we really have is anecdotal evidence from playing matches. I don't have video recording set up etc nor do I own an PIRs so I thought it would cool to toss your video into the heated debate.

I have to say I honestly had given up on the forum crowd after about page 5 in my thread but sometimes the back and forth of the forum gets addictive because you start taking the stupid **** personally. I should be better than that but I'm only human.

So, again really sorry if you felt I misused your post or upset you. Hope I can shoot you in your Pirahna before you kill me if we meet in the game! Posted Image

I don't think it's overpowered.

It main issue (as far as I see it) is the part of a game where it shines. Early game, it's poop. Super poop, an annoyance at best.

Late game, it's a freaking monster, and it's invariably fresh, because no-one ever shoots at it until it's chomping on their mech junk, power humping their legs like a Jack Russell on PCP and filling all their exposed naughty bits with torrents of baby dakka.

People just don't seem to prioritize it as a threat, which is mind boggling to me. In the days of boom Yagers, even PUG players called for focus fire when they saw one. Now, with the Pirahna, people will ignore one within spitting distance of their crosshairs if there's an assault even 1m inside the maximum range of their weapons, because why would they waste damage trying to hit a slippery little fish when they can rack up huge numbers on the fat guys?

Every little bit counts. If you wait until the end game before you prioritize ANY MG light, you're responsible for your own death.

I don't think that is a realistic option.

More overpowered silliness claiming something is OP when it's not. let's try to fix this asap.

I was going to quote this post to OP so that's why "you" term instead of something else.

1st game none of the mechs you killed enganged YOU in combat, shot some of your ally or in that kitfoxes case... already damaged light mech got 1-shotted from back. nothing in this video that makes Cipher or piranha OP.

2nd game MKII was engaged with friendlies, free kill.
bushwhacker was engaged with friendlies, free kill... had that storm crow been bit more competent you would have died, you had no idea he was shooting your standing still piranha point plank.
Hellbringer and roughneck were both engaged with your friendlies and half dead.

3rd game linebacker & crow combo both were half dead and they gave you really bad damage, had either of them been fresh you would have most likely died.
MKII was almost dead and engaged with your friendlies. Only threat that Mist Lynx gave you was FF from friendlies trying to shoot that lynx.

4th game HGN-IIC and MKII were engaged with friendlies. Do I even bother saying anything about that ACH?

This video shows nothing other good lights could not have achieved, nothing OP in these videos.

PS. OP I do not criticize your playstyle, that is pretty much correct way to play piranha effectively. Engage fresh targets with direct fire weapons, alone... will most likely get you dead or critically damaged.

@ The Gauss Father, Don't worry, I did not take any offense to your post. I just wanted to make this post to ensure that if someone is going to make an opinion based off my video, that they had the full body of the video and not just the small pieces that I cherry picked. I could have made a video of all the times I had pilot error and died, or ran into a Streak/SRM/Pilot who could aim situation and got blown up. I just love the mech and most people hate the war horn. @ Kiiryo, You are correct. I get ignored for the most part, unless it is a Streak/SRM boat. This pretty much allows me to remain intact until the critical stages of the game when components are exposed.

@ Curccu, No offense taken. As I said in my OP, I rarely ever try to attack a fresh mech solo. If they can aim, I die quickly. I always look for damage mechs, mechs that are not paying attention or mechs that are engaged with friendlies.
