What if CAC has no ghost heat, would people finally use it? I would.

The C-AC/2 already lacks Spooky Heat, and nobody uses it.

I could see some niche uses like quad C-AC/10 Kodiaks but otherwise I think that the weapon family would still be eclipsed by other options.

Single slug, just increase the cooldown to match IS DPS/ton

PGI already said they don't care about the C-AC though, multiple times

If I wanted a Clan ballistic with low DPS but high PPFLD, I would take the Gauss Rifle. ACs need DPS.

And seriously the total burst duration time on Clan ACs is quite short, shorter than the majority of laser weapons. They have other issues than that.

IS AC20 has 63% higher DPS per ton than the C-Gauss, it would still be much better dps. Twistable damage spread is what makes the C-ACs useless and it doesn't have the DPS to overwhelm it as with C-UACs.

For me ballistics are so poor in this game hitreg and ping nullify anything good about them. I generally use LBX because its the only thing that seems to mitigate hitreg ballistics wise.

CAC GH penalty is not that high enough to warrant caution. I mean quad CAC10 has only GH penalty of 0.96 heat, that's less than one extra heat per 40 damage.

Lets not compared IS AC20 against Clan Gauss. IS AC20 has its own limitations.

What if we simply deleted them all and just put in the actual Clan ballistics rather than Paul's placeholder for a solid shot LB-X?

It's literally a gun that only exists because PGI thought they'd be able to make a dual-firing mode autocannon and failed.

No, CAC10. Go check it on smurphy. firing 4 CAC10s at once only adds one extra heat.

only uacs should have ghost heat imho. guns are supposed to be cold with the tradeoff of ammo, they usually arent.

Hmm, that's cool. I tried 2x UAC10 + 2x CAC10, has a lot of heat.

That's cause their heat penalty is linked and the penalty uses CUAC10 value. Which means you are getting 25.2 extra heat per alpha. Compared to mere 0.96 heat for quad CAC10.
