Title: Streak SRM fail to lock onto point blank targets
Description: C-S-SRM and S-SRM will not lock onto targeted mechs at extremely short ranges. This enables enemies to run into and grind againts Streak SRM equipped mechs without fear of retaliation.
Location: During gameplay
Reproduction Rate: 100% w/Stormcrow vs Centurion, other mech combinations not tested
Steps to Reproduce:
  • equip C-S-SRM or S-SRM
  • drop in training grounds on e.g. tourmaline desert
  • find and lock onto an enemy mech, e.g. the Centurion on tourmaline desert
  • run into the front of the targeted mech
  • notice the target lock being broken at < ~10m
Alternatively:
  • equip C-S-SRM or S-SRM
  • join any game mode
  • have a targeted enemy run into you
  • notice the target lock being broken once the enemy gets close enough
  • notice inability to retaliate as long as the enemy keeps grinding into you
Evidence:
Centurion on tourmaline, more than 10m: http://steamcommunit.../?id=1341789065
Centurion on tourmaline, less than 10m: http://steamcommunit.../?id=1341789688

Grr.. meant to type in F5.. not hit and and refresh the page /chuckles.

Can confirm. Several different mechs though noting only the Awesome - backside. Lose lock while looking towards the ladder leading to the cockpit then back over to both arms then down them, no lock. Legs, from the middle of the top panel and down, no lock. Normal weapons fire still does damage.

Range does not matter as much as noted. 5m on the Awesome's back side and still 5m as I hit panel with the start of the ladder then it increased to 7m to the cockpit, still no lock. Reversing away from the Awesome's rear I was get to 12m with no lock while aiming at the rear cockpit door and 14m while aiming at the top of the arms.

On the Centurion, no need to actually ram it. At 6m while aimed under the CT energy points - locks. Move crosshair up the CT and lose lock when aiming at the energy point and no lock moving your aim up, even with arm lock disengaged. Also lost lock while aiming down the legs, cross the entire chest section and no lock on the arms either.

Hit (remember type it ) F5 then use directions keys to move the free camera around so you can get a side screen shot.
  • So, no need to actually ram a mech, just simply need to be close.
  • May loose lock while pointing at.. outer/further sections of a mech when at close range, or as both mech and crosshairs moves across or up/down on a mech body, and aim is retained on said mech, lock may still be lost.
