I would evaluate at release, not now. If it comes in August 2012 as has been hinted though not stated AFAIK, a new generation of GPUs will be available, and current ones will be much cheaper.
Obviously, looking at current Crysis reccomendations would give you an idea, but buying or determining now is very early.
Some interviews have mentioned being optimized to take full advantage of newer computers at that time, so I would expect DX11 to be supported.
I will probably wait until specs for the game are released, but my wife had to buy me an xmas gift and a card was one idea for it. It does not hurt to speculate though:-)

Cross-fire can be more economical than a single card too. I have two 5770's in crossfire, and they perform much better than a 6950 and on par with a 6970. It is also a good option for the budget minded too, as they can buy an inexpensive card and if they are not completely happy with the performance buy a second one and crossfire it. That way you're sneaking in two smaller purchases that the wife won't catch on to.

I imagine my 650 watt power supply could take it, although I think a fair amount heat would be generated in the case. I saw that the diamond 6770 could be had for $69 AR, and theoretically I could buy 2 and crossfire them, my wife being none the wiser;-)
