So Battletech and Solaris are going to be coming out around the same time. What do yall think that'll do to the MWO community? I imagine it'll just be die hards running metamechs in Solaris at the start, and it may or may not even out. Are there even casuals anymore?

I know i'll be in Battletech..

This game is a mess, i will give it a break and see if PGI can fix it, not holding my breath the imbalance in Clan vs IS and PSR garbage needs overhauls but too many PGI Astroturfers don't like that.

I'll be divulged in both; one for Solaris, and one for a Turn based battletech game I've been waiting for who knows how long.

I will be playing BattleTech for sure! I am counting down the day until it launches.

Overall, I don't think it will impact MWO's community too much. Luckily they are two different genres, so many player who enjoy this style of game, might not enjoy BattleTech since it's style is completely different.

That isn't to say that numbers might not dip a bit for a while, they might. Still, many people can play both games back to back anyway, so I wouldn't be too concerned.

I think MW5:Mercs could have a bigger impact (being also a first person Mech game), but I think most will also play both at the same time as well, so it should be fine too.

Solaris will probably destabilize QP for a week or so, then everything will be back to normal.

But yah, I'll be playing Battletech a lot more than MWO.

If going by what happened with CW/FW/FP is any example as to what to go by, I would suspect that for a few weeks to a month, Solaris will be strong, then die off to a point that only the most hard core fans of it will play it, after that point it will be back to normal for MWO....

Me though? I'll be in Battletech, play through once, then put all my weapon mods back in place to really change the feel of the game into something a lot more fun!

To be honest many MWO players are like IDK if I come back and play or stay to see what happens to MWO to many better games are coming out in 2019.

As for MW5 might try it if its free but I know I wont pay for it based on what MWO became total nightmare from day 1.
Plus I have this game that still works well. Mech Commander 2 and I can MOD my own games.

Still waiting to hear more about the divisions on Solaris to say I’ll be playing more, and mostly that. Still will play QP and maybe even FP if decent events are running, and population still exists. May even play more if some things are finally addressed or fixed.

No interest in HBS Battletech. Sorry, seeing that Atlas, with the guy’s best pilot, get headshot on the first “roll” of the game reminded me of how much RNG Jesus hates me. So, I know it would happen to me an inordinate amount of times.

I've made my low opinion on the production of Solaris, known since closed beta, and wouldn't touch it, even if Battletech wasn't going to be a thing.

As to BattleTech.

Since Paradox got involved, there have been a lot of changes, I have seriously disliked, to the point, at one stage, of considering contacting H.B.S for a refund on my backer level.

I'm going to be playing it, because I still have hope that Kiva, and the others that worked on the campaign portion have produced a great game.

Then I'll review it, and based on how it plays as a game, and not on how it represents, or doesn't the 3025 era, I'll either give it a thumbs, up or down

BT priority for me.
No offense but MWO is in shambles. It lost the vision of the original MW5 they were developing. There's no charge up PPCs, no rapid fire autocannons that aren't rapidly gibbing single times armor mechs, there's no substance to its staple game mode and bringing it down from the team oriented "Thinking shooter" experience it once boasted but never really sanctioned with the four pillars it said it would... down to a one versus one or two versus two setup with one shot metas the way they are now.... Solaris is gonna expose all the issues of MWO in the worst way possible.

But I'll be there with a camera and popcorn.

I'm looking at getting my PC fixed soon, so I am looking forward to playing both.

Battletech especially, as I have been waiting for a top-down turn based BT game on the PC since I started playing the TT when I was a kid. So. Very excited. :P

Solaris looks like it will be fun for a bit until people create the best boats for it and then all the stuff that is broken will rear its head in that game mode-then PGI will have to play whack-a-mole with patching things. Still gonna watch and try to enjoy the experience where I can, but normal games will probably still be my thing for awhile. XD
