Page 2 just disappeared. K-town can't be far away now. Just don't make me turn this car around and head back home!

You say this like it was a good thing. It was one of the symptoms of the disgustingly bad map design of invasion maps.

People don't know how spawn camping used to be.
Well, it wasn't even necessarily spawn "camping". It was not like you had much choices as attacker. Maps like sulfur were just brutal. People dropping straight into the attack lanes with zero cover. It's not like some kind of gentlemans agreement to not shoot enemy mechs right in front of the attackers was realistic.
And god forbid someone else loaded into the game quicker than you did and took command. Stripping you of the possiblity to switch people through lances to make them spawn on the spawnpoint that wasn't overrun. I don't know how much time i spent begging, explaining and cursing for people to switch respawning people to a lance where they had a chance to not get killed 0.2 sec after they spawn.
God things were messy

I just added it as a part of history that the new crop of posters missed. People don't know how spawn camping used to be.
wasnt a real issue. Drop commander just had to move people around if they got over ran.
For the pugs, other than making "hiding zones" the should just just allowed people the select where they wanted to drop.
But this was "to much programming".
FP was all down hill from there.
