Order of events:

See enemy mech.

See enemy mech fire MRMs and/or SRMs or ATMs.

See screen shake from missile hits and vision obscured by explosions.

Hear computer say, "Incoming missiles!" AFTER the missiles finish hitting.

Hear yourself sarcastically say, "Gee, thanks! I didn't notice!"

Happened to me against SSRMs. SSRMs hit my mech, and after 2 seconds, missile warning blares.

Recently, my ping rates have increased to the point I have noticed my game play is being effected. I don't play as much now, and even less after this. But yeah, I seen this and wonder if Bitchin Betty is drunk or what? Posted Image

Every time for several years. You got to learn to see the LRMs coming Posted Image

Sound priority. The sound of weapons hitting you pushes betty voice message back in queue. It only happens when missiles are fired too close to you, you wouldn't have had time to dodge I promise ;)

I wonder if the sound of launching LRMs also pushes it back in the que cause i used to watch them coming then dodge then get the message. Its totally unreliable and always has been for me.

Happens with component destoryed messages too. In a heavy firefight, lose some parts and disengage. A few seconds later Betty starts rattling off what's been destroyed. What's even better is She's dyslexic, so my LA is gone but she'll say RA Destroyed.

You get missile warnings from Streaks?

The usual pattern for me in lights where there's someone good running streaks. is

1. Half my armor disappears.
2. I die.
3. I see a streakboat run past from offscreen.
4. Death summary pops up.
5. Missile warning pops up.

It usually happens to me because Betty is busy going through the long list of what equipment and weapons I lost up to a minute before the LRMs actually get aimed my way. The onboard computer having a very granular way of describing any and all types of damage your mech might suffer is nice, don't get me wrong but it shouldn't be necessary when "right torso and arm destroyed" would drive the point home much more efficiently and free it to go on with business.

If mechs didn't lose everything in an unarmored section as soon as damage is applied to it I could see the use of the long list but as it currently stands, that is rarely the case.

MRMs and SRMs don't trigger missile warnings. You're getting fired at by different things.

Well in those cases, I didn't notice any LRMs being fired at me or landing in my vicinity later, but I did notice a bunch of missiles being thrown at me on flat or very nearly flat arcs just before I get the "Incoming missile" announcement.

Others have said it; low priority in the sound cache.

Sound cache issues are especially noticeable with war horns when several users score kills in close proximity to each other.

You know what though? Delayed warning might be a neat skill tree node to help lrms out a little.

You obviously never played much then

Flamers biggest advantage used to be blinding your foe by firing it towards their cockpit. Missiles and Autocannons have had their screenshake drastically reduced from early days. A chainfired LRM or AC boat could effectively stunlock its target indefinitely, making it easy pickings for you teammates

if you seen the missiles incoming wouldn't the warning be superfluous?

The warning is superflous when it sounds AFTER I get hit by said missiles.

**Pilot lies dead in the smouldering ruins of his mech.**

"Warning: Your mech has been destroyed."
