I agree that the 3d wireframe mech model is much better than what we have. Unfortunately, I doubt PGI is even capable of making the HUD display the right silhouette for a mech, much less a 3d model.

One of the biggest limitations is the engine, not PGI. CryEngine was not designed to have this kind of display. Activision built the engine specifically for MW2, PGI coopted an engine designed for a fast-paced single-player FPS.
