How many times have you entered QP with that SRM brawler, and the first map that gets voted up is Polar Highlands? Or your laser boat ends up on Terra Therma? Why would any decent Batallion Commander mismatch equipment and environment so badly? I propose the addition of a drop deck for Quick Play to address these frustrations
The Drop Deck would be limited to two mechs, with the second one being optional. Only the first slot needs to be filled in order to drop. The second mech must be of the same weight class, to avoid complicating the matchmaking system.
Having both slots filled will bring up a third option on the Map/Mode vote screen to choose which mech you want to use for that particular match. So you can have two different loadout types to choose from based on the Map/Mode combination that looks most likely to win. If you fail to vote, the mech in slot 1 is selected by default.
I suspect this would be fairly easy to add since all the basic parts are already in-game, and I believe it would enhance gameplay for most people.
Add A Limited Drop Deck To Quick Play

No offense QP is QP. FP needs 4 Clan Mechs/Omnimechs. I agree it sucks to have an awesome new brawler build on Alpine Peaks,Terra Therma, or Polar Highlands or even Tourmaline Desert sometimes.

No. We all get the wrong map for our mech. We all take the wrong mech for a certain map. It's part of the colourful life of a mech pilot.
If your mech runs too hot, you are the one who built it. You are the one who operates it. You are the one to blame.
Likewise, You are responsible for firing the weapons in a heat efficient, controlled manner, and you are responsible for building your mech to run cooler. You, and you alone.
If your mech still runs too hot, and you can't fight on a hot map. You must look into the causes. Its unlikely to be the map that is the problem, since everyone will experience the hot map, same as you. If you overheat, and they don't, revisit the mechlab and see what you can change.

Learn how to position a mech to use the loadout.
I can get a 400m range working fine on Polar/Skirmish for instance and do top damage/kills... It's all about positioning, patience and knowing how to play.
All this would do is encourage static/boring gameplay. Frozen City / Assault for example is bad enough, imagine everyone sitting both sides with just ERL/ERPPC for 15mins? No thanks.

Sounds like a good idea, but the drawback is that on Alpine everyone will pick their lrm boat or sniper build.

May I point out, that this option already exists in Faction Play. You know in advance which map you're on, which game mode you're playing, and whether you're attacking or defending if it's siege mode. At that point, you have the choice of TWO COMPLETE DROP DECKS which can each be tailored for different environments or situations. Same for scouting mode, two mechs to choose from. Now, if you choose to only outfit one drop deck and use it for everything, that is YOUR CHOICE, but the option is still there. I've never seen any complaints about it being abused or causing problems, and there are truckloads of potatoes in FP.
I'm just asking for the same option in QP.
