Don't sweat it Sam, ya know it's gonna be the "usual suspects" when it come to crap light this.
It's the "usual suspects" because there's a fundamental disagreement between the parties present. Sam doesn't want to put in the effort to become a better player because he doesn't believe he should have to work, and work hard, in order to improve the quality of his experience. There's a certain level of sense in that too, he's playing the game for fun, why should he have to labor in order to have a fun time.
The other side cannot understand why someone would NOT put in work to become better. No matter whether it's a trifling amount of effort or not, their entire point of view revolves around a conscious desire to become a better player because being a better player means you get better performance. It's the same thing in arcades, some people just want to play the game, some people derive satisfaction from how well the play it and how high they can get their score. You can't just make light of this group, it's how they're wired to work.
The trouble comes when you're in a PvP setting and the people who want to be better are either pitted against or grouped with the people who just want to play and have a good time. The second group can SEE the mistakes the first group is making and often WANTS to help them improve, which only ends up causing them even more frustration because the first group does not give a damn. But because the first group doesn't put in the effort, they end up in a situation where a new tool can pop up which they are mentally incapable of defeating. Whether this tool is actually overpowered or not, because they cannot handle it they throw up a fuss, even further ticking off the second group because there might FINALLY be a new option for them to play with, only to watch it get nerfed into the ground. And so we all end up back where we started, only angrier and more unsatisfied. So of course it's the usual suspects, they're the ones that have had to endure this cycle a dozen times or more.
Though more on topic... I have to agree with Ash. It's not that the Piranha is OP, it's that mech agility is crap and the entire crit system is OP. Structure just isn't worth a hill of beans these days and a lot of mechs don't have the agility or geometry to properly twist off damage to injured locations. Mech HP may be doubled (or more) from tabletop, but you can only work with half of it because the other half evaporates instantly with no recourse. Even when it doesn't immediately drop off, you are basically
guaranteed to lose anything located in an unarmored section before you can even establish full situational awareness. That's no fun and the Piranha just happens to be especially good at reinforcing that prospect. The problem is... even if you nerf the Piranha... structure will STILL be worthless and we'll STILL be having less fun because the root issues haven't been addressed at all.
