Yet another PGI mech that is 20%+ broader in the torso than the concept art. Zzzzzzz.

I got to say, PGI's models do tend to find ways to totally screw up the look of a mech. I mean in concept the Mad Cat Mk II looked very sleek and vicious looking however the modelers somehow ended up squashing in its nose while making it bowl legged and look obscenely top heavy. That poor mech just look wrong in so many ways but the concept art well....was pure art.

Alex draws beautiful mechs, but the concept art never takes into account how they'll scale next to all of the of he mechs of their weight bracket. The drawings are consistently way thinner in the torso that they can realistically end up in game, due to volumetric scaling. I mean look at the torsos of the Highlander IIC and the Supernova, and tell me how the Blood Asp was going to be that slim. It'd end up being the tallest mech in the game to keep such a compact and lanky profile.

I honestly feel like the problem is more on that end, but I guarantee that he drew all of these mechs ages ago, maybe even before such things were taken into account. Either way Russ. Alex, and whoever need to get together and make sure that the concept art is done in ways that more closely reflect the weight class.

Or, we could avoid all of this and have a 3D model ready when the preorder goes live. Yeah let's do that.

It isn't. Even the mechlab is ancient in that screenshot. You must have seen the in game model during your search.

I admire any of those that texture the mechs. It screams like a perfectionists wet dream. And even if I have little to no OCD anymore, such a job would kick it back in and paralyze me, totally Posted Image

Of all the "famous" mechs in this game, the Direwolf is my biggest disappointment..

It has lost it's menacing, threatening walk, in place of a ballerina's tippy-toe, it's incredibly slow and sluggish, incapable of rocking the build I used on it in every other MW game ( 6 x CLPL ), and the worst of all - it's worst nightmare is a locust - the smallest bug in the game..

It used to be my absolute favorite mech in all other MW games.. but in this one, it took me years before I forced myself to buy one.. and I still haven't skilled it up fully..

It's just collecting dust..

I thought they did change it with the rescale...
Albeit very minor as it is still the easiest mech to hit anywhere you deign. Concept has the STs tapering in a bit with more beef in the legs. Oh well. I will look at it laters

Pretty sure with rescale the Boeing nose cone was shrunk a bit.

You can see the changes here:

The in game model, ripped by myself directly from the game files:

The differences to the old pic you used are quite drastic and while not exactly a 1:1 copy of the concept, its not as far of as you believe it is.

Hi JJim 1
Thinking its the same Model only without the texture which accentuates and underlines some negative and from a View above not beyond. The lady so to speak without bad make up..

tbh, it seems to be quite the same.

Look at 1.21:32 of thise stream, where the concept art and the 3D model are in the same position.
