Ever been part of a Domination match where you were the ONLY blue mech to enter the circle? I have on a Grim plexus map. I hid behind a small rock pillar while my "team" set up sniper/lurm positions and stayed far away. When I noticed the enemy flanking me to get me in a cross fire I called it out asking for help. None came. I died in the crossfire of a king Crab and a Phoenix Hawk whilst my "team" kept sniping and lurming away from behind cover (at least for another 60 seconds when they lost). Match score was 0 to 3 IIRC.

After that no fun match I realized I play this game to have fun and hiding behind a rock pile waiting to get flanked is not fun. Tis better to ignore the objective and have fun for 60 seconds in an unfun game mode before moving onto a more fun game mode. Especially when blue team has no intention of ever giving you support nor completing objectives. Remember it was your "team" that voted for you to play in an unfun game mode so you owe them nothing.

Escort literally breaks certain weapon systems thanks to the uncounterable ECM towers that can be a mite tough to disable when, y'know, people shooting at you.

Which is sad, because I do like the concept.

Enough stupid will make every game mode not fun.

This is the problem, stupid is generally rewarded right next to those who git gud with a place on the same team. Enough stupid, and you get games like that one. Enough games like that one, and it'll make almost anyone bitter about anything.

Yeah.. I didn't even realise until recently that you can't get around it with TAG or BAP (I don't use lock on weapons that often)

I think the points should be destructible in addition to being capturable.

I like the idea too, but its implemented like butt.

Personally, I'd like to see the escort mech being like one of those super heavies with more weapons than sense. It would make sense that the VIP is some sort of spy and he's stealing the damn thing or something or someone defecting and taking a little tech with them.
