Heyo Warriors.

I have an Idea for a Urbanmech Hero or just a standard model.

I have not finished the art but the legs are the same as any other Urbanmech.

I have piloted Urbanmechs since they were released for MWO and I have an idea for one.

The idea is a Urbanmech fitted with a shield that can be deployed to act as a riot shield. At this point it is fitted with clan tech but the use of IS tech can still be used to make it lore viable.

Urbanmech UM-D120 Is a defensive mech made to move up along with a squad. Acting as a wall of armor the D120 leads the charge with its LB10X, This shield while deployed will set the max speed to 34.2 KPH.

Loadout:

1.5 Tons Endo steel
5.2 Tons Ferro Fibers
4 Tons Clan XL170
4 Tons Clan Double Heat Sinks
1.5 Tons C-LB10X Ammo
0.5 Tons Jump Jets - Class V
10 Tons C-LB10XAC
2.8 Tons Defensive Shield
0.5 Tons Clan Mirco Laser

The basic loadout with Clan tech. This could be the new Urbanmech IIC or just a normal one. On request I will do my best to finish the art.

This loadout is also yet to be completed. There are a few values that are off but I can fix them if needed. as this is just an Idea of mine.

I hope you guys can rally and push as this could be the start of mechs getting new equipment and or features like shields or melee type weapons.

Casual Jerry signing off.

You should probably shrink the shield into just something that partially covers the leg.

It works great right up until the XL 170 engine...
XL 180 works, as does XL 150... but can't make a 170 engine Urbanmech in the source material for it to be a stock design.Even then the XL 180 is only 3.5 tons... but this is because PGI puts some other "weight" into the engine... that would otherwise be counted separately.

Shield would clip through the leg. Also this shield and its perceived weight versus the regular arm would cause some people to think about it a bit too much. "Large" shields can cover torso sections but aren't big enough to go past the legs.

I was going to quote the house rules for mech shields, but evidently some official shield rules have been made...

You can probably throw out that jumpjet, too, large shield doesn't allow for jumpjets after finding the shield details on page 291 of Tactical Ops.
Readable here http://www.sorrowclo...0Operations.pdf

So, interesting, you'll have the speed of a 150 XL engine with your XL 180 engine until the shield or the arm is destroyed, then you'll get your speed back.

Interesting.
But oh the rage... plus shields are IS tech.

Thanks for the Info mate! This was more of a joke to start off with but I will soon be redoing the loadout to act more lore like with full IS and a standard 60 engine. The armor should stay the same. but this means that the shield will not slow the mech down!

Once again thank you guys and gals for the info I will get to it right away when I have the free time!

I agree on making the shield smaller...if you keep it in the design.

I also think it should have some type of unique feature...for example the um-r63s i have has a unique cockpit that is smaller....

If you open to design suggestions, i always wanted to see a new urbanmech with a capability of having 2 ballistic slots in the arms, 2 energy slots in the enter, and 2 missile slots in the torso (maybe with weapon pods like the mad cat)...

That will make it the most awsome light mech!...think of the possibilities....

Msybe one balistic slot per arm...lol
