Thanatos 5S Dual Heavy Gauss

Only IS heavy capable of running dual heavy gauss with reasonable ammo (Warhammer only gets 2 even with arms stripped and 250 engine).
Alternative options with ECM include:
40 PPFLD HGauss + HPPC
35 PPFLD no charge with better range
A great breakfast snack free of charge
Breakfast for people who can't stand the heat
So many options on this thing, and those torso mounts are ULTRA high, right in line with the cockpit. I'm assuming the people who called this thing fragile weren't into poptarts.

If PGI would put the good variants in the standard pack they might get some more sales, I'm waiting out the cbill release on this one too. Also a few of the builds I posted had jump jets. Looking forward to using this thing, some have said its kinda squishy, but those high cockpit mount dual torso ballistics AND ECM combo is really getting to me, and it even comes with jump jets too. Its got everything I want in a mech all at once.

I can fit 5 tons of heavy gauss ammo on a Warhammer, you just have to be creative with using single heatsink and a 225 engine:

Well, at least the Thanatos does it better.
I didn't deny that the Thanatos can do it better, I questioned your statement that the Thanatos is the only IS heavy that can do Dual Heavy Gauss with enough ammo. Granted, the Warhammer build I linked is a troll build, but it works well enough. 52 kph vs the 54 kph and 5 tons vs 6 tons to the Thanatos, but has a better profile. Both are going to move assault speed slow.

I think people used to call it fragile before the quirks. Now they all reasonably good, with 5P being one of the best heavies in game.
What I dont understand, is why having 50 kph heavy when you can have 50 kph anni with all the armor and lasers and even cases.

How is the 5P in any way good? MRM80? I can't see anything you could put on this garbage can to make it worth playing.

Of course. MRM80 and ECM and JJs and armor and high cockpit and high launcers. The only thing it lacks is speed and agility, which makes IV-Four the absolute best mrm carrier, while 5P being only the second best.

Lower weight, higher mounts, smaller size, lower target priority, you can fit more than 2 into a FP deck.

Yup. You'll be able to do some potentially cool builds with it. I'd have probably put out $15.00 for the standard pack if that one was in it. I also think a stealth armor sniper would be fun for quick play, but it requires the reinforcement pack thana, so that's right out.

3x TNS + ASN would be a pretty decently well rounded deck, if the TNS is actually viable. I know it has had torso armor buffs, haven't played with it yet to see if it's any good.

A UAC10, SRM16 with ecm and a decent engine works pretty well. Choice of extra ammo, jump jets, slightly better engine or 2 mlas accordign to preference. It was a good brawler for me even before the ST buff, now it's quite nice.

I think Victor-9S is much superior choice for such brawling, with only 5 tons of difference.

But the Std pack variants were pretty good. One of mine is a MRM30 + 2 Ultra 5 brawler. Another is a MRM40 + RL15 + 4 ERML build. And the third is an odd LB10 + 3 SRM6 + 3 ERML build that is an excelent skirmisher.
