So as the title states the arty and air strikes are a real pain as they require even less skill than Lurmz (which im fine with).
Can we have it so you need to use a tag or maintain LOS, the spam is a joke. Not such a problem if your in a heavy or an assault but they really knock the hell out of the lighter mechs

Maybe they need an air strike warning to help to potatoes like they have for lrms. The color smoke must not be working :)

Your kidding right? They just nerfed them big time. If anything they should speed up the drop time now, even a direwolf that didn't see it for 3 seconds can out run the bloody things

On serious note, the addition of smoke warning will help to break up the deathball, and flush people out of hiding far more effectively, than without. Plus it helps the potatoes. Win, win.

I'd be fine with strikes and other consumables if they had a tonnage/slot cost instead of cbill cost per use.

Give it up please, that will never happen. You might just as well say they should be outright banned.

Aye... Everything that has an in-game effect should have associated tonnage/critslot cost.

Strikes may require certain electronics equipment, maybe require a TAG or a NARC to mark the location or something, Coolshots could easily be replaced with coolant pods, UAVs could easily take up critslots and tonnage (and be limited in the amount you can equip, like ECM or AMS, with SOME mechs being able to equip extra UAVs).

One of the main issues with the smoke is that it's impossible to see when you have night or heat vision on, which is a lot of the time considering how bad natural visibility is on most maps.

They will not get rid of a very effective money sink and they are in no way as bad as they use to be as were no cool down. Never had an issue to be fair but I usually run lights and mediums so can get away and even in slow assaults you can mitigate them if fired from the front line as easy to spot and dodge. It's the sneaky ones placed from the flanks what will kill you and I have no issues with them since they had to get into a position to do that not drop randomly as they usually used to mask an alpha strike in your rear.

Using strikes should require a Command Console or Targeting Computer to be mounted on the 'mech. It makes sense contextually and they aren't totally worthless after your strikes are launched.

Not that strikes are particularly bad now, they got nerfed hard.

No.

Strikes brutally punish mindless running, mindless standing, clumping up, teams that ignore enemy movement, specially lights, skirmishers and spotters. I like that they punish these bad playstyles. If ppl clump up enough times and get massacred by strikes, then eventually even the slowest learner will understand that his or her playstyle is just bad.

Oh good grief. We've destroyed the game by "eliminating" just about everything.... Y'all got Solaris and that isn't enough? PGI has Nerf'd the game into stupidity, degraded it to the point that "everything" is messed up and have driven off thousands of players???

Y'all need to be satisfied at some point or there won't be a game left...... Or, there will be a game with no on playing.

PGI has been investigating adding flashing lights,a siren, ominous music, and a vibrating mouse to alert for strikes in MWO for those who are somewhat awareness challenged. Tears will still flow........

I still remember when strikes were doing almost no damage.. It was way more fun to play back then, mainly because almost noone used them. Now it's just StrikeWarrior Online with the team that eats more strikes losing each match...

You would be fine with them if they were 100% useless you mean. IF they cost weight and crit slots no one is going to use them. Not to mention you imbalance the strike as well since Clan mechs often have slots to spare where as IS mechs really dont. So its going to become something you would see on the clan side more easily. Im not sure if that was your intention but it would be a symptom of the change.

Strikes are pretty ok right now, I miss a lot of them actually since the change to the length of the strike area and because even slow boyos can get out of the way if they are paying attention.

I just love when the people who actually have no skill cry about a weapon or consumable they cant figure out how to use or avoid.

I get hit a lot less by strikes now by keeping my head (i.e. torso) on a swivel. Works in combat flight sims and sure as heck works in MWO. I also switch in and out of heat/night vision. I still get trashed by them from time to time, but hey, 'c'est la guerre'.

Good hunting,

qive up my bad smoking habbits!? Never! i'll take all 32 cancers with my death sticks! Oh strikes, well then just make a warning flash and audio warning just like LRMs have then add another 39 counters just like LRMs have. Strikes will still be op then too.
