Figured I would start early since I am stuck at work for another few hours and have nothing better to do than view the forums (while pretending to be working).

How is the Fafnir holding up?

Seems alright so far, but I just noticed the 5's Gauss cooldown quirk doesn't apply to heavy or light Gauss Rifles. =/

Yeah only normal gauss rifle affected by the cooldown quirk, and seems like the sound of the warhorn seems to bug. Playes the animation for it after the kill but the sound playes like two seconds behind..

Beginning to think no one bought the Fafnir pack because there has been almost zero feedback on the forums yet.

I just boxed my up, for at least a week, maybe longer. They're not exactly... terrible, I guess, but I don't like 100 tonners to begin with, and I don't like the range game it has to play.

In short though...

-Somewhat awkward hardpoints
-ECM is useful, but its still huge and only the most puggy of pugs will be deterred by it
-Good weapon placement
-Walking CT that means you absolutely cannot get up close, or stand still, or use anything that requires face time

Can't stand the thing so far, personally. Have survived one a match in it, and every death has been by CT.

Had a few matches in the FNR-5B (boring 2 HGauss, 5 ERML). Did poorly, mostly because I'm too use to playing Lights & Mediums as of late so I kept missing all the fighting.

I have a few build ideas for the FNR-5E & FNR-6U plus a terribad build for the Wrath Posted Image

Surely it's an oversight. Might have to jump on twitter to seek clarification.

My advise to anyone who does not like Assaults or 100toners is to NOT play them at all. Stick to what you like to play as this 100tonner is not gonna make your day like Heavies, Mediums and Lights. But if you are like me, I like Assaults AND YEAH 100 TONNERS like this even though it's not the best mech to strap on my ***.
But you know what? I like a challenge and to me it's BORING to play a mech like a piranha which to me is stupidly over powered with 12 HMGs. But hey, it's just my opinion folks! :) Have fun as this really is what it should be all about...FUN.

I pilot Assaults a lot. Not like the Annihilator, King Crab, Marauder 2. DireWolf and some other assualt mechs, they can take a beating. But this Fanfir is weak. I was so exited to purchase this. But now, I have problems trying to find/make a good config. I feel I wasted my money. They are easy to destroy no matter what, even with all survivor skills. It is an embarrassment for a 100 tonner. I will still play around, but I am dropping in my ranks fast.

Death by CT is good if true, might buy it if that is fairly consistently the case.

I can't possibly see why that would be a good thing.

I guess that could be useful in the FNR-6U? Maybe?

It's a stretch.

He has a point. If by some crazy happenstance the Fafnir could get away with mounting a XL, it would really be a beast.

Yeah....the mech does stretches from sea to shinning sea.

...How?

The Fafnir reachs a hardpoint limit before a meaningful engine cap, generally. Going XL could maybe ad 8kph, I guess, but I have doubts as to whether that would make a difference.

Try this build and tell me how it goes. Got speed synced 50PPFLD and sustain AC5s. Only fire the PPCs once with alpha if you sustain obviously.
