it has been like this for 30 minutes now, no changes whatsoever

Make sure you are not running out of harddrive space. For some reason its not giving any warning of this. I got stuck and this was the issue.

Downloaded the patch , sitting on 1/3rd of the patch 1.

No progress no matter how much i wait.

Stuck on the patch too. Restarting the launcher did no good nor rebooting. Ended up reinstalling the game.

had same issue, figured it was prolly HDD space issue, so closed patcher, made 18gig free space, updated the patcher and patched the game in less then 5min after that (SSD drive)

Yeah to further chime in here, this is a substantial update with this Patch so make sure before patching to have at least 20GBs free on your system. The actual patch itself once applied is only ~1.5GBs, however during the patching process it will require a lot more space to be free to function as intended.

Also I would personally recommend running through these steps to perform a Direct Download of the Patch Files as this might help speed up the process for you:

How to use these patch files
• Download the above file(s)
• For sake of ease we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
• You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
• Launch the MWO Portal
• Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
• Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
• In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
• For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
• Click the blue Patch button
• The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch.
• Once the patch is complete, launch the game

Had 47 gigs free during the patch. Still stuck at the 1/2 phase. But a reinstall solved it and working fine so far.

Tried the above steps.
Dont work.

However i cannot update the patcher.. the installation just crashes.
Maybe that is it.

Any suggestion.

If you use Steam, the total space used during patching is under 4GB... (I know this because I had ~5GB free when I patched) If you're running out of space, give Steam a try for the update.

usual patch 1 stuck at about 10% point , tried the downloaded patch files, and directions above, same exact sticking point, new PC, over 1 TB HD free, no SSD, whats up ? our SW folks always do a bunch of trial runs before shooting patches out, does removing and reloading the game always work ?
