I am going to suggest that the first 10 matches in any division be hidden ELO as placement. One of the bigger issues I see in solaris is the immediate loss of ELO being painful for players. They feel like they are losing by playing which in reality it is just trying to find their proper ELO bracket. Once you are there, you should be 50/50 or better if you improve .

Why add a complicated mechanic to something that worked for almost half a century?

every single match IS a placement match and there surely are no elo brackets.
