9 straight loses in Solaris (I have yet to win) has lead me to one conclusion...I am terrible at 1v1 pvp. I am mainly hanging in division 4 and going with my cougar. Problem I am seeing is that I get toasted even when I get the advantage of the first strike using a stupidly high alpha. If course being a cougar I don't have the armor to sustain a "DPS" set up. Either way I am waiting for the you suck and we aren't sponsoring you anymore from my patron.

It seems a little weird though, having lights against heavies and assaults.

If you ask me, the Heavies and Assaults designed by PGI cannot fight well alone. They work best in a group combat environment most of the time and yeah, you can get lucky once in awhile fighting by yourself. But as you pointed out, 9 losses and ZIP wins, if you don't mind losing and see it as being fun...why even bother with Solaris? :)

If you lose enough eventually you will be paired with lowbies and start winning again. Also, Cougars are really bad at Solaris, so you better change your mech until PGI rearranges mech divisions.

If I can win with an LRM/MRM no skill node stalker, I'm sure you'll eventually score one.

I dunno if a Cougar is a very good mech for this. It is wide, slow and each section is super easy to focus and it doesn't have any armor quirks to make up for that. =(

You just bad, accept this. Ways to improve - got seismic sensor and other stuff critical for small areas ( torso angles for example on assaults), remade skill tree + remade mech weapons to fit DPS meta Solaris provide.

Don't use a Cougar. Or most lights and mediums, really.

You're playing in div 4 you are fighting warhammer, dragons and zeus .

Another problem you're having is most people dont have an elo as they just started. You're playing people out of your tier. So in a few weeks it might or might not get better. If they keep the 1 minute timer balance might always be bad due to low group size to balance with.
