I honestly think that Mixed Tech should be a thing in Solaris 7
allow mixed tech of weapons... let the IS mechs put on Clan weapons
let the IS use Clan DHS or Active Probe or ECM...
mixed tech to include everything that is NOT an Engine, or Structure, or Armor...

Let the Clans use IS weapons

then see how this works out... I can see it now... Clan Mechs with IS AC20... IS mechs with Clan Lasers, missiles (SRM, LRM, ATM and Artemis)...

seems fitting since it would be how it was done... using what was available...

So can I use Clan XL, ES, FF, DHS too?

Of course Clans can use IS XL, LFE, ES, FF, LFF and SHE.

Seems legit.

might as well allow mixtech everywhere except FP at this point, factions are utterly irrelevant in QP/Solaris anyways

Nope... not a good idea. IS weapons on Clans will make the Clan Mechs way OP.

read the post... you cannot use armor, structure or engines those so no IS mech with clan engines or clan structure or clan armor... just the weapons and other things

Without the ability for IS mechs to at least use Clan DHS. The IS lose in that trade. A couple things would open up interesting options. Especially heavy lasers for mechs with limited energy hard points. Clan LBX20s being smaller and lighter is nice. UAC2s would have an interesting effect on my triple UAC2 Uziel.

But the Clans get lasers that are better for close in brawling and they have their 2 slot DHS advantage.

Still. It would be interesting. Maybe if they did like a salvage tech limit.
