Tonnage Vs Division

After the second match I found I could win by just backing against the wall, face tanking whatever I was fighting to win.
eventually they come to me
eventually they run out of ammo or armour
I have plenty of both to spare
I play "shooting gallery" for 6-7 minutes while the little buggers run back and forth attempting to figure out a way to my back CT.
such a difference in tonnage forces me to play like a HUGE **** to win.
I'm fine with putting mechs into divisions based on performance, but when my one leg has more armour than my opponent has all together, we have an issue.
Because I KNOW that I cant out turn the smaller faster mechs doing anything but parking up against a wall and playing turret is my only REAL option.
again, makes me a flaming rooster.
ID RATHER JUST WAIT 2-3 EXTRA MINUTES FOR SOMETHING CLOSER TO MY TONNAGE.

Don't bring QP mechs to a duel.

My Hunter is basically unusable as it is somehow division 1 - up there with Atlas' and the like, wtf? This division thing confuses the crap outta me and hasnt lent itself well to a good experience so far, Solaris is unusable to me thus far because somehow I keep getting matched to people double my tonnage.
If I do win a couple I suspect itll be because I luck out and pick a division where I am heavier than my opponent and do what OP was talking about.
Also 2v2 play I guess doesnt match you to random other player you have to actually make a group and then launch, I was hoping I could be matched to random team mates. Oh well.
I think the division thing needs some adjustment for sure though.

I just got dismantled by a wolf in the caves. To win using a lighter mech try and force the game off of colloseum and factory to maximize your movement potential

I played a few games and logged off after it was Catapult J vs Banshee in a closed environment.
Dumbest thing I have ever seen. Will wait till this nonsense is over.

There can be interesting moments, but for the most part heavier mechs will usually win against lighter mechs due to armor and firepower.
And as someone who has started to prefer the lighter mechs, it makes Solaris, the mode I have been waiting for a long time, almost a chore. And since I rarely even log into MWO anymore, its pretty much the last nail in the coffin for me.

Is there a place where I can see the possible match-up listings? The TBR A left torso does not make the Mad Cat into a Warhawk or Cyclops you are really out-armored and out-gunned, Gun/Ballistics, being the balance breaker here. Yeah I can beat these mechs some times, but certainly not if they were to bring a good load-out.

Thanks, but it doesn't matter I can see. Just don't bother bringing a Mad Cat, they have it highly over rated. Last 3 matches were against two KDK-3 and one Atlas. Don't have to tell you how that went, they just have too much armor to get through and they blow out one side torso at a time in a couple of shots. I am just switching mechs till they fix Solaris Divisions to something grounded in reality instead of spreadsheets.

My feedback.
Other than that it's a fun challenge. I lost most matches at first, but winning more than half now..... with a Joystick.

Don't even get me started on the Dragon vs Banshee match I just had as of the time of this post. I was outmassed by 35 tons. He simply had the armor to shrug off my damage and blast away with near impunity.
These divisions are supposed to be mechs that perform along the same level, yet I repeatedly will see that this measurement must only be on paper and not in a real pvp scenario. If you must have 7 divisions, then split them up in a way the makes it you are no more than 10-15 heavier or lighter than your opponent. The way they are now, is absolute rubbish. I had high hopes but PGI has, once again, failed spectacularly to balance anything at all. Its almost like they threw darts to determine which mech goes in which division.
TL;DR - Solaris's divisions are rubbish and I am not touching it again.

I figured for sure that even with the divisions, that at the very least you would be matched against the same weight class and yet here we are....
