The Sponsors system itself is a good start. Though I think that it can be improved upon.

1. You only get Sponsors for being good.
This is a mixed bag. Rewarding people for doing well is right and should be kept. But from what I have seen (admittedly limited) you will only get sponsors when you are a top dog. This is not how it should work. Sponsors are everywhere and the better performers get the good ones.
Thus I would like to suggest that you can aquire sponsors also in the middle and low ground of elo rating instead of simply by getting a good elo rating.

This directly leads in to 2.

2. More Sponsors.
This is pretty straightforward. There should be different tiers of Sponsors and thus more sponsors will be needed. High tiered sponsors would reward a bigger percentage boost but also require a player to be good.
Medium tiered sponsors would reward an average percentage reward and would be split between "acitivity" and "elo change" sponsors.
Low tiered sponsors would be mainly "activity" and some "elo change" but would also reward the least.

These sponsors would be put in to three groups being:
"High tiered sponsors = high elo rating requirement"
"Medium tiered sponsors = medium elo rating requirement"
"Low tiered sponsors = low elo rating requirement"

There could also be some cross polination in this regard with high elo rating players getting "activity" medium tiered sponsors if they did not qualify for a high tiered sponsor and a low elo rating player being able to aquire medium (or rarely high) tiered elo change sponsors if they do well.

This would require an increase of the current sponsor count from 8 to 24 as well as some changes to the current sponsor system.

The main idea of this is to make sponsors a standard feature that can be aquired no matter how well or bad you do as long as you are prepared to play the game mode. This in turn should make it more entertaining to play Solaris 7 and makes it more rewarding even if you are not a top dog.
