LOL, I see the Reddit kiddies are already declaring that BATTLETECH is a dead game even though it doesn't officially launch until 9AM today (about two hour from this post).

Yeah, the campaign is pretty fun so far, it really reminds me of the old Crescent Hawk's games. Also, it is really nice to be able to play a BATTLETECH game where Mechs are not buffed or nerfed because someone cries about not being able to facetank an Atlas with a Locust.

Well, looked some streams of it today and being a zero skill game it obviously doesent need any quirk.
But still looks kinda booring for me.

The challenge of BATTLETECH is to get through a mission and take as little damage as possible, so that you can maximize your income and minimize the repairs. Having a MechWarrior, or a Mech out of action for 19 days really sucks when you are bleeding cash trying to keep things running.

(chuckles) If you were here when we had R&R, some of the builds players used sure did work around that logical. Just think if a player's mech was out of commission for a set amount of time.... That would have worked for CW/FP for loyalist/merc units. Your private mech(s) out of commission while being repaired so you have to use the unit's stock mechs, etc.... But that would have really sucked for IS units more so than Clan units.. geez...

having said that, doesn't the game seem unresponsive at times during loading?

I have played MWO since June of 2012, and I was around for R&R and collision / knockdowns, PPC Gauss meta and all that. And no, I am not advocating to have 19 days of downtime in this game, especially since you can't fast forward days like you can in BATTLETECH. Also, the whole point of Clan OmniMechs was that it would take far less time to repair and refit them than it would to repair and refit BattleMechs.

Yes, I have put a ridiculous amount of hours into BATTLETECH (not even close to what I have put into MWO) and I still love the game.

They have patched the game twice since launch and it woks great. Only bottom-bin crap computers have problems with it.
