As a long time backer(early founder), and infrequent player of MWO at this point I was moderately excited to see Solaris coming. Mind you not enough to actually read about how it's set up, and not enough to get me to open my wallet again.

I also understand we're getting a free mech, kudo's to the Dev's for taking that step.

What's disappointing is logging in to try it out and realizing I need to purchase or even repurchase mechs to fill in at Solaris.

I feel like at the least I should be able to take a mech from my stable and push it into Solaris if it's a variant ready for that. I'd even be okay with it then disappearing from my normal stable or better yet having a timer of a days or even weeks, or even a whole Solaris season before I could push it back out to my regular stable. I don't begrudge selling special mechs for Solaris either... I just want to be able to use the content I already steadily worked on and played with to play there as well, since they are all pixel based big stompy robots.

I just don't have the energy, time, or willpower to spend cash here anymore to dedicate to tricking out another stable of mechs, and so I feel pretty much left out of the experience and probably won't work/play that game mode when I do log in. Instead of acting to drag me back into the game in a more involved manner, this is serving to disappoint my experience with the game.

In short, fairly disappointing to see a reset button on a new game mode, anything to help fix that would be appreciated.

I am not sure if I have understood you correctly. It sounds like you think you need to buy new mechs, specifically for Solaris.

If so, you are not correct. You car use any of you existing mechs. The Solaris interface is not clear. 1st, select a Patron (select one for each Division you wish to play in), then select your mechs for that division. I dont have a mech for each Division - so maybe you need to hunt through the Divisions to find one in which you own a mech.

Then play!

Like said above, each of your mechs has been placed into a division based on various factors, and those mechs can only compete against other mechs in the same division. It's done like this for balance reasons. Sign with a patron in each and you'll be able to see which mechs you have that are valid for that division once you click "select mech".
