Anyway, while talking with Sumire, our Dropship pilot, she had this to say about misjumps:
"We could have wound up in the heart of a star. Or stranded on some god forsaken rock. Knowing my luck, stranded on some god forsaken rock full of screeching birds."
Yeah, I see what HBS did there!
Did they give this lady a hatred of birds just to make this one joke?

This is the character from Planet Potato.
She is a walking, talking meme collection.

Yes, she is the meme character. She makes several references, Potato Planet and Squawking just being the most recognizable ones.

Speaking of Sumire memes...
This is a funny one someone made concerning how she will land the Leopard on top of you if you are standing in the wrong spot.

Oh God... so the devs were nice enough to paint all the dots where you can stand in RED indicating where she's going to land in most cases...
EXCEPT for this ONE particularly hair-pulling main storyline mission. You are tasked to take over a base for a little while, but none of those red dots are anywhere. And when you've stood on the base for long enough, she lands the dropship RIGHT ON TOP OF THE ******* BASE. She plummets down from the sky right on top of it. And if you're standing in it (as the game WANTS YOU TO, in order to take it over), you've just lost a mech and pilot. So you've got to stay near the very tips of the big yellow hex.

Must be an intermittent bug because when I played the mission, the Dropship hexes were clearly marked. Or as clearly marked as they ever are.

I've never noticed those red dots missing from a mission myself.
