I just got out of a Solaris match (tier 6) against a Uziel in my AC20 Hunchback. He died to multiple, separate headshot hits, and I wasn't really trying to aim for the head until the armor was cracked after a lucky hit or two. I am not a good player, my aim is normally "hit the big mech in front of me" and I rarely get headshot kills. It is also very rare for me to be able to land multiple separate shots on the head of a mech in a match. Normally, the rare headshots I get are a single salvo and dumb luck.

Anyone else notice this about the Uziel? Is this thing a headshot magnet? Are the hitboxes messed up on this mech?

Anyway, to the guy I killed in that match, honestly, I'm sorry.

Most players aim center mass, and the Uzi's cockpit is right smack in the middle of its frontal profile. If you're aiming CT against one, you're not entirely unlikely to hit the head by accident. The geometry also leads the eye towards the head hitbox, since it's positioned directly between the four 'mandibles' of the CT and, viewed from the front, their inner corners are arrows pointing right to the cockpit window.

So... basically, yeah. It is a bit of a headshot magnet, which is... par for the course with the Uziel, really. Poor thing is squishy all over.

I think I took a heavy hit to the head on one occasion while piloting my Div7 Uziel.
I don't think the hitboxe is oversized or anything, but I can understand why you ended up getting some accidental headshots off, since, as WrathOfDeadguy said, the geo of the mech makes headshots a little more likely.

I'll gladly own that loss, and apologize oldradagast. I ran through your old posts and believe you 100%. That was the only time I've had that happen, especially in a hairball torso twisting fight with a little terrain to raise and lower the head during the fight. GG and well fought! There may be a hit box issue, but that was the only match I lost a head that way and quick in any mech.

Yeah, I felt bad about it since it seemed less like skill and more like creepy voodoo, so to speak, as if I was casually removing people's head's slowly just for fun or something. I've never been able to do that before, so I guess it is just a mix of dumb luck and the position of the head hitbox just begs for it to be shot.

Well, good fight, Mechsniper, and thanks for stopping by this post. I hoped whoever the guy was would see it, but I'm terrible with names, so I couldn't PM you about that strange match.

Good fighting to you in the future!
