• Add the ability to challenge a specific mechwarrior to a grudge duel in Solaris
• Add the ability for unit leaders to issue unit challenges against one another in Solaris (your 2 best vs my 2 best...etc)
• Allow challenges to be issued from quick play and faction warfare matches.
• Allow match series challenges to be issued, best of 3, best of 5.
• in a best of series, only allow each map to be played once to force game variety.

The first two and last two are already implemented, since private lobbies can be used to accomplish these goals. I don't see either one being implemented in an officially sanctioned capacity apart from that, since it would be too easy to abuse to farm match rewards. Private lobbies allow all this without granting any rewards.

What would be nice is if the in-game system had some way to record the match results, for bragging rights.

As for the middle one, there's no reason you can't add someone as a friend during a match, straight from the scoreboard, and then attempt to contact them via the in-game chat after the match.

Meh, the whole point would be to make it a part of the solaris system, and there are plenty of ways to prevent abuse, encourage spectators for pre-arranged matches, prevent the same challenge from being issued multiple times in the same X period of time, etc...

Ooh, instead of rewards tho, the players would be required to pay an entry fee for the match, winner takes all.
