Hello everyone,

you obviously are interested in playing Battletech, and so i want to tell you, that we have a german Battletech league and community for over 15 years now. The society is called Lordprotector and we are part of the Team Trueborn.

We have three time lines (3025->level 1 tech, 3067->level 2 tech, clan) with separate accounts for each timeline.
You choose a house, a mercenary unit, a clan or a periphery state. You start with one lance (star in clan) and with kills in so called chapterfights you get points that you can invest in new mech lances, tanks, infantry, helicopter, support vehicles and better pilots. So your army grows larger wiith time.

If you loose Units, your leader will substitute. If you capture mechs from your opponent, the mech will be transfered into the house pool to be given to unit members for losses.

At the moment we play live with the orginal tabletop box game or online via Megamek. This small and free programm has implemented nearly all rules of the tabletop box and has thousands of different mechs to choose. So we have the possibility to play Battletech online every time we want!

And, that is why i post it here, we think about allow doing chapterfights via this Battletech game. At the moment i haven´t seen the PvP here, i could not connect, but if the Game is close enough to the tabletop rules, there is no reason against it.

But, that is the disadvantage, this community and websites are in german only. So probably only german speaking Battletech fans will have much fun there

So if some of you like to have a visit or join our community, we would be very glad!

Here are the links and information about it. And do not hesitate to write me a message here in the forum or an email, if you have further questions.

I'm sure this post would be more at home in the battletech subforum: https://mwomercs.com...%ae-discussion/

I remember some of you running intro games for the TT at Rat Con in Dortmund some years ago. Good times.

Too bad university is keeping me so busy nowadays.
Definately going to bookmark & visit your forum though.

Harebrained Schemes Battletech is pretty close to the tabletop game.
MW:O on the other hand is a slow stompy robot arena shooter with some battletech elements. It's very different from earlier mechwarrior titles.

Now as you tell me ... this is true, but how can i move a topic? Probably not at all.

And yes, in the good old times we had many conventions, especially in germany. But i heard, these days there are many new convenstions set up. I guess the BT players of 20 years ago got children, and now they grow old and the parents can go to cons again :-)

Yesterday i played PvP in Battletech the first time. It was really nice, way more arcade than Tabletop or MegaMek. But cool for a 30 minute Mech shredding fun. I like it.

And MWO is a shooter, it is as close as it can be to the rules, without loosing the fun of an real time shooter. And it still is impressive to sit in a mech and face an enemy atlas! Both of the games (ego shooter and round-based tactical) has their legitimation.
The only thing i miss here is a campaign and a progress from match to match, more than getting some points in a ladder ranking. But as i heard, MW5 will focus on this more.
